This is akara elepo aka akara made with palm oil, it is usually expensive and it is very delicious. Moreover, the prices of food stuff have gone higher.

(quote author=englishmart post=110966507] I moved to Lagos from Abuja recently, and have been struggling to adapt for several reasons.

1. Food costs a bit more in Lagos than in Abuja.

2. A-20 minute distance by foot costs at least #150-200 here, unlike in Abuja where it's at mostly #100.

3. Water(drinkable water) in Abuja was almost free, and very salubrious. Here at the island, you buy sachet water (pure water) which is the only affordable water that boasts of some minimal degree of purity.

I was shocked when I ordered for Akara of 250 and got those nearly invisible 5-balls. I nearly refused it, if not for the beautiful girl that was leering at me.

You could just buy 2cup of beans and make your own akara ur self.

two cup of beans is how much in your area or are you in Jupiter? what about other ingredients

for the fact that you bought that 250 in island shows the seller is compassionate, do you know how much they sell beans now and palm oil?

This is weekedness of man to fellow man,,

And we would blame the government for this,

It's very cheap, how much are you expecting one to be sold? ₦20 per one?
Is like you don't know price of beans, kerosene /gas in the market. Go and make your own and sell it for ₦5
Re: Akara I Bought For N250 At Ikoyi. by Johneroh1: 8:33pm On Mar 12, 2022
First of all...I will say, if you have a business, you will know how resources now cost in Nigeria. To prepare akare, you need
Oil
Gas
Beans
Grind
Pepper
Onion
Transportation cost
And the likes.

Do you know how much these things cost in Nigeria?

Go start the business na if e easy. Or try make a cup of akara at home and see how much it will cost you.

Someone said it is tomato cup. It looks like half of half-derica cup. You get? I doubt it is popular in Lagos. I only see it with those abokis that move about with wheelbarrows. Never seen it in a shop.

We warned them when we saw how Desperate d evil apc was dishing out propaganda, but they bluffed it and called us wailers.

Now they build fake rice pyramid with 2x2 wood to deceive d Gullible about food availability, meanwhile, hunger is hitting everyone. To carry cow from north to Lagos now is 1.5m per trailer as they buy diesel at 700 per litre

See Tinubu promising light, fuel, 3m jobs, paying youth 5k per month, all lies!

Same Buhari that claim to fight boko from war front as retired soldier, how far?

Una go get sense by force!

I still dey fuel queue since 5am.

He is actually right. Nigeria economy now do not give room for wastefulness like in those days. Then you will collect change from 50 if you buy this and I'm not even talking about decade.

Una go sit-down for either Kaduna, Kano, Lagos or Ibadan dey assume things wey dey happen for East wey I dey.

How can that akara be 1k in the east?

I am surprised you can still buy something to eat for 250 with the astronomical dollar/pound exchange rate for naira. You should be worried about the excessive insecticides and pesticides in the beans.

Even after dehulling?
