Yesterday's post garnered so much interest from the readers and comments/likes. Some people asked me to do a follow-up article with the focus on why many men cheat. Throughout yesterday, I have been wondering how to go about it. At the end I am settling for a topic that covers both genders, hence the above mentioned topic.

Yesterday we saw that cheating is lack of indiscipline no matter the coloration we choose to give it. However, over the years here are the commonly known excuses spouses who cheat or cheated have or had:

1) Resurging and undying feelings for the ex:
This is a situation whereby a spouse cheats with an ex lover with whom they had something very strong in the past but for some reasons could not marry. For example: genotype incompatibility, long absence because the man traveled to overseas and didn't return on time, oppositions from parents because of status, tribe, education, etc). This often happens when that ex reappears from nowhere and they both meet. This meeting often rekindles old-time love. However, there are no spiritual or moral justifications for cheating on one's spouse. Marriage means the cessation of the ex.

2) Emotional neglect and disconnection against one another:
This is a situation whereby a spouse is emotionally neglected and starved in the marriage when One spouse doesn't care about the other one emotionally. In that marriage they live like two strangers and enemies under the same roof. There are no justifications for any cheating Partner. If you have issues, please seek help with a counselor or your pastor.

3) Very long absence: This is a situation whereby one spouse is away from the other partner for a very long time and they have not put a solid plan in place to help themselves. This happens more when a spouse travels out of the country for a very long time and doesn't come back home in between. There are no spiritual or moral justifications for cheating. Please see a counselor for help.

4) Inordinate sexuality: This is a situation whereby ones spouse has inordinate libido drive. They are easily turned on and are always eager to have sex with the opposite sex if an opportunity presents itself. This is a medical condition. These people are known as nymphs. It can be addressed medically and spiritually. There's no reason for anyone to be infidelity in marriage.

5) Wrong association: This is a situation whereby a spouse moves with bad guys who have a negative influence on them. These bad may be cheaters or friends who downplay the sanctity of the institution of marriage. Please stop moving with such folks to safe your marriage.

6) Wrong mindset about marriage and sexuality: This simply means whereby a spouse comes into marriage with a wrong notion and mindset about marriage. This spouse believes that one can be married and can still have extramarital affairs outside the marriage.
