Was Tinubu the "architect of morden Lagos" invited to the event? If the builder of the house is not invited during the commissioning of the house, what does that tells a sane fellow?

Some arguments here is actually for fun anyways.

My brother, don’t be pained by Tinubu’s achievements. He’s the architect of modern Lagos. That Lagos has been on the path of progress since 1999 is due to his vision. The business hub you’re taking about did not come by magic. It is the result of the hard work of Lagos state leadership since 1999. Give kudos to those that deserve it and stop hating.

Lagosians are enjoying the ATM. If Tinubu and other leaders did not provide the enabling environment for business to thrive, Microsoft won’t invest in Lagos.

You and your likes will only call Lagos enabling and enjoynment because you guys havent stepped a feet out of this graveyard called nigeria.

Dont worry, the day you will, you will see what is true enabling environment and enjoyment....

If it's about holding the government accountable, no one does it more than me. But there are times to keep quiet if you don't understand something.

Not everything requires you to complain or bark like a dog.

That private development is worth commending, it will have positive ripple effects, the government alone cannot do everything.

Who exactly are the Lagosians you're referring to....atleast I know I pay tax as do others...do you and the sea of owo da tigers littered all over the state reigning as overlords and extortionist cartels... shouldn't the ones that truly contribute to her wellbeing be the actual Lagosians.

I know with certainty a vast majority of responsible residents of the state are disgruntled with the way state affairs are run.

Lagos comparative edge is the population and its status as a former seat of federal government is the spring board, stop getting ideas...virtually all the blue chip, IOCs and others had situated their head offices in Lagos before your demigod forayed into the governance of the state...the only thing Tinubu can be credited to is his tax reform and IGR growth which he has inadvertently coveted to himself in the long run

Lagos is where it is today simply because it is a former capital of Nigeria. Lagos was not built using cocoa money. Please leave all this sentimental talk. Lagos would have achieved far more than it has today if a significant portion of its annual revenue is not being sent to one man. For example, Lagos has the capacity and capability to generate and transmit 24 hour power supply to over 20 million residents, for residential and business purposes but it is unable to do that. The day we collectively stop being too sentimental with our hearts in this country and start using our heads, is the day we will progress forward big time.

The architects of modern Lagos as we know it are the late Lateef Jakande and maybe Burba Marwa to some extent. You honestly dont know what you are talking about.

Talking about private investment, isn't that what you guys have been clamouring for years?

You say government had no business in business, yet when private enterprise invest, you still wish to lambast government.

See, if you don't like Lagos, relocate to your homestead.

It should be way better than this. A whole former capital.

Lagos stopped being the former capital 31 years ago. After the capital was moved, Lagos was abandoned and there were no infrastructural plans, maintenance or developments.

All that changed after Tinubu became governor in 1999. This is a fact that can never be erased. Lagos leads other states follow including the current federal capital.

@the bolded, you are saying nonsense. Why can’t they invest in Kano if it’s just population that influence investment? Lagos is attractive for FDI because it has the Human Resources to drive those things and because it is investment friendly with a relatively peaceful environment.

Lagos has by far the highest number of tech startups in Africa so why shouldn’t Microsoft invest there?

About Asiwaju, if ya’ll can blame any bad thing about Lagos on him then why can’t we credit him for every good things??
Tinubu no doubt played his part in lagos. But, lagos has been lagos before Tinubu. It was the capital of nigeria for over 20years. The federal government built it.
We can even agree that all the governors after Tinubu have done way more better than him

You the younger generation don't
know or read up on simple Nigerian history. Stop posting false info
here!

To be clear, it is Lagos Island that was the administrative capital of Nigeria from 1914 to 1991 for 77 years.

Lagos State was NOT the capital
of Nigeria.

General Yakubu Gowon created 12 states for the indigenes on May 27, 1967! Lagos State was created exclusively for the indigenes in 1967.

Unknown to you and some others, over 90% of the land in Lagos State of today was in 1967 carved out of the Old Western Region (led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN of the Action Group Party) which used cocoa and tax revenues, etc, to develop the infrastructure and industrial estates in areas such as Ikeja, Iganmu, Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Badagry, Ilupeju, Isolo, Ojo, Amuwo Odofin, etc. Only Lagos
Island was NOT under Awolowo's government.

Other states have Federal roads and buildings so Lagos State is not
the only one with
Federal infrastructure.
