Normally her husband goes out early to work, a manager in a bank.

It's a garbage reason. There are condoms that provide more tactile sensation, if their problem is feeling robbed of sensation then get those types of condoms. You know what is more likely, they are ashamed of being seen buying condoms because condom use has some social stigma still attached to it.
