The electricity national grid has collapsed again leaving the country without public power supply.

The latest collapse, the third in less than a month, came despite assurances by the Federal Government that it has taken steps to address the problem.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) who manages the grid had last month said it had developed an alternative ways of managing the grid.

TCN had stated that its “in-house engineers have deployed a stop-gap solution to improve grid monitoring and acquisition of data from remote stations (power stations and transmission substations) to the National Control Centre. This was achieved by utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) solution, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) by using various Internet Service Providers (ISP).

“This temporary use of the Network Automation System was deployed to assist TCN in conveying critical operational measurements data from remote stations to NCC using Web Technology, which is an integral component of the IoT. So far, the data received from remote stations has enabled NCC to obtain more insight into the situation of the power flow on the grid and has enabled NCC to make decisions that have impacted positively on the security and integrity of the Grid.

“The stop-gap solution became necessary as TCN could not access and receive comprehensive operational data of the entire power grid for managing the fast-growing system. The existing inadequate SCADA System cannot provide adequate grid visibility, as parts of the existing SCADA system are moribund and damaged, coupled with an ineffective telecommunication network infrastructure. The fact that several stations were never integrated into the existing SCADA at all, and made grid visibility and management very difficult and inefficient”.

Since the beginning of this year I have exhausted over 300 liters of fuel. How can I compete with an Indian or Pakistani developer in the freelance market? Nigeria under this administration is designed to kill dreams and businesses

A govt that never improved energy in the country even after spending more than 6 years in power, is blaming companies for relocating to Ghana and other African countries where energy is stable and friendly govt policies. Till now, Nigeria still distributes less than 4000megawatts of power which can't power the totality of companies in Lagos much more the whole of Nigeria. Govt of blame, continue blaming everybody.

Nigeria is now a joke.

“Buhari will handle security and Osinbajo will handle economy”.

The biggest lie since Jesus left the earth.

Tinubu will never benefit from Buhari disaster.

This is no longer a new thing nah, it's like saying I want to sleep.

National grid collapse is now one of the characteristics of Nigeria as a country.

Thank you Mr. Muhammadu Buhari for taking Nigeria to greater heights.

National grid collapsed abi you're truly using diesel to 'generate' power like an analyst said a few weeks ago? According to him, no light until rain comes fully because the goons in charge of electricity generation aka 'national grid' can't afford to use diesel at N750 per liter and you guys are just lying about national grid. Even if the national grid has an underlying illness causing the regular collapse, shouldn't you have fixed it? Liars

This is a national embarrassment, and they will still expect you to pay at the end of every month for the electricity you did not consume.

They've been disturbing my neighborhood since last week for march payment but no one is giving them anything this time because we suffered no be small
