As I say all the time, western European nations are poor. These same resources they couldn't take diplomatically in the 1800s, they took in 1856 with an invasion.....

The original name of Africa was Alkebulan but the western European savages changed it to "africa"

Have they met the president yet? So any body can just go and make agreements with NNPC without FG involvement ?

How can they be taking pictures with the most important economic institution of our country and talking about partnerships without involvment of at least an appropriate minister of our government?

Can unknown Chinese ambassadors by-pass the UK govt and start taking photos with head of NHS and talking of partnerships without the presence of at least top civil servant of the UK Health ministry?

It appears this country is still wholly owned by these racist Caucasians, we are just fed the illusion of sovereignty angry

Nigeria can meet European and local demand. Most of the gas we have is still being wasted due to poor technology applied to gas capture.

There is nothing wrong with it..

They know the president would have to sanction any sale anyway and we are looking for buyers.
And Europe is the most lucrative market.

It's better than any dickk and harry going to aso rock for every little thing that can be agreed at the ministerial level.

Simply avoid Gas flaring.

Also I think Nigeria's leaders over the years have failed to create a strong economic link between Nigeria and Europe.

Big countries only care about countries that are vital to them.

That is why Saudi Arabia can get any kind of technology in the international market because they have made themselves very vital to Western interests.

If Nigerians wants to be taken seriously and get access to anything in the Western world, we need to make ourselves valuable to them.

When America stopped buying our oil, we lost a lot of relevance in the West.

And the best opportunity right now is gas.

The Nigeria-Niger-Algeria-Europe pipeline is critical to our long term strategic interests.

May be this will stop and eradicate the theivery in that sector. But I can assure you that everyone I'm that sector is positioning to cash out and personally benefit.

Corruption everywhere.

The only solution to all these problems is to break the country up.

No. there is a reason we have petroleum ministry and also ministry of trade and industry and also a ministry of foreign affairs.

Let us face facts Africa is not owned by Africans. That is what we need to be fighting to change.

Well they will draw free Gass and oil to repay that loan. We are owing them trillions of naira self running into billions of dollars

Yes, that's the way the world works. If you have nothing to offer, nobody takes you seriously. Why should anyone have a problem with that?

This is something Africans have always asked for. People say we need trades, not aids. Now they are about to bring trades and you are still wailing grin

Can you mention one country in this world that trusts the other.

You don't have to trust them. Our leaders just need to capitalise on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take over the very lucrative European Market.
But we already know our leaders can't be asked to put on their thinking caps

At times, when you read some comments you wonder the high level of ignorance among people.

The ones shouting 'gas wey never reach us' do you know how many trillions of cubic Gas in this country?

To the extent if utilized well it will serve both Nigerians and Europe as well. I tell you guys that Gas is the future of this country just like how Crude oil was in the past.

It's a great opportunity for this country IF the right management handles it well unlike the corrupt NNPC.

You are very wise. Hatred for Europe / America is making many Nigerians to think irrationally. This is best time for Nigeria to have a larger share of oil and gas markets especially in Europe.

Na because of Russia awon werey... No more green solution again
Green solution na mirage jare. Don't mind them. Na envy dey do dem. They've forgotten that , even if they ban consumption of petrol globally due to their so called carbon emissions, gas will never go out of the market except they want to be using igi idana to cook and run giant manufacturing industries which depend solely on gas and their electricity which depend on gas to run its turbine with coal.

I was thinking last week, what had actually befallen us in Nigeria as a country? Why have we never got it right but quickly remembered that these same long-nosed people played a great role in our country's setback. They went to Russia who share same skin colour with them and abandoned Nigeria in oil and gas development and investment opportunities. They knew once they allowed us get it right, we will be far more developed than many European countries and wouid have a voice in the committy of nations. Now, their chickens are coming home to roost. It serves them.right as Putin is busy using their money which he collected in the exchange of gas to build weapon house for potential attacks on them. Come to think of it, Russia is just number 8 in oil and gas endowment, while Nigeria is number 10 on the list. They're just 2 points ahead of us which means we have the capacity to also produce as much gas as Russia can do.

We keep blaming everything on bad leadership but these same whites played a great role in Nigeria's ruins. Do you know that it doesn't cost much to build a refinery? Go to the Niger delta and see those illegal refineries refine high quality diesel and petrol before they went and destroyed them instead of giving them licences to operate with close monitoring on quality assurance. But the west told our government to consider international trade policies and the law of comparative advantage such that Nigeria would refine our crude in countries without crude oil and natural resources and import for local consumption. There's a lot which is going on out there which 99% of Nigerians don't know jack about. Only those at the helms wouid understand what international forces mean. If they like, let the next administration spend another billions on the repair of refineries, it still won't work. Have you forgotten ajaokuta steel? I was telling some people that international forces won't allow that sector work when buhari came because once we get our steel industries running, we have the potentials of becoming as powerful as America because steel in ajaokuta is massive. No single item made of metal would have eluded us in production. Last week, the DG came out and said the sector can't work, giving reasons. I kidt laughed. Lobatan!

Until Nigeria begins to behave like Russia, we will always face setbacks in development. We should shun their largesse in aides and loans. This was among what MKO promised and they came for him. It wasn't IBB who annulled June 12 but the west and their pressure. Russia doesn't belong to OPEC and this has helped them in dictating the price for their oil and gas, making them selling even lower than opec countries to EU. They make over 1bn$ daily before the war started and it had been like that for ages. Tell me, why wouldn't they chop belle full and begin to build arsenal to attack the world? Tell me now...

The day we call it quits with the west and their unfriendly policies, the better for us as a country. They can't do more than sanctions but with time, we shall get it right and achieve that greatness we've craved. The attitude of our leaders too need to change. That's why we must all get it right in 2023. All agitations brought about by inequalities will stop once we get leadership coice right.

Thanks for your attention.

How I wish those at the helm of affairs would fully utilize this golden opportunity to ask the EU to develop the the oil and gas sectors by establishing the needed critical infrastructure and not just having supplies from Nigeria without them investing in the sector.

Nigeria is blessed but cursed with bad leadership.

It is never too late to rework Nigeria!

Useless, lazy wasters. By now, Nigeria gas pipeline would have settled on European soil as "bride waiting for a priced groom." No, they wasted 8 good years searching for cow grazing route. Fura de Nunus!

You mean more pipelines....

Because Nigeria already has one pipeline that heads directly to Europe.... The NIGAL PIPELINE.

It runs from Nigeria --- Niger Republic --- Algeria...

Hence the name NIGAL

What Nigeria need is to increase production and more pipelines if possible..

And above all is to give account for the proceeds of the gas.

Na project topic you write so oo

The title of the project should be something like : The Nigeria Energy sector and international geopolitics...

As your project supervisor let me ask you a question ?

You are asking us to call it quits with the West, if I offer you and your family an American Green card would you turn it down ?

What about the citizenship of the Western nation that you like the most..

Would you turn it down ?

My point is this

Nigeria cannot quit ties with the West because the politics of the East is not friendly.

Nigerians have passed through dictatorship and authoritarian regimes and we are not ready to go back to Egypt....

At the end of the day, that is what the East has to offer.... Dictatorship and Authoritarian governments.

Mali and Burkina Faso are recent examples...

No matter how bad a Democratic government is, it is a million times better than an Authoritarian government.

The solution is what you stated above ...

Let's get it right in 2023 and vote for a Visionary leadership across the country.
