Ahmad bagged a degree from one of the universities in London.

I hate defending El Midgeto, but the guy tried to improve Kaduna schools, and guess who sabotaged it...the NUT Kaduna state branch, and Nigerians.

The guy tried to weed out deadwood teachers, and NUT went on a violent protest, and Nigerians put pressure on El Midgeto to listen to them, so any reforms the guy wanted to try were killed/ nipped in the bud. He could not sack bad teachers, nor employ the qualified ones he wanted to employ...because sacking bad teachers meant 'people would suffer'

The man tried to do something. Nigerians don't like change. So, he gave up.

Our universities cannot grow because they are expected to give $50000 education on fees of $200 or less.

Government and ASUU knows this. But since it involves increasing fees, and since neither of them want to look like the bad man or woman, they dance around the issue.

If you guys allow universites to increase fees, and also pay more in taxes...instead of demanding free education without any thought for how it would be paid for, then you would have universites as good as the UK

Nigeria has a tax to gdp ratio of 8.1% and spends about the same amount as the UK spends on its police force to fund its budget. And that's why we have bad universites.

And you guys idea of economic development is selling more raw materials, whose prices we do not control , and whose prices are never where we want them, meaning we have to take loans to meet up when prices fall. Not industrial development.

The UK has a better system of education, but they pay heavily for it in taxes, and in economic development, and in things like paying heavily for power and water, so that their industries run well, and export well for lots of money. We don't do that. And it shows.

No one has mentioned any tribe here, why are you so bittered with the Igbos?
