It's either you guys relocate the shop to a saner environment or she stays with a nanny or day care till your wife comes back. There are no 2 ways about it, the child has to be removed from the environment, telling her not to say this might be a futile effort if she hears such foul language continually. Children will always pick up words they hear around

It's alright because after burning you alive for preying on an underage, they'll leave your remains for for vultures and I'm sure they won't pick the flesh of an unhonorable mofo like you.

Recently I heard my daughter saying "Zazoo zeh" she is not up to 2years though. Am that kind of person that always caution myself and watch the kind of music I listen at home, but she did not learn the word at home, am sure she might have heard it somewhere in her mom shop, because my wife shop is located somewhere very rough, a lot of children in the environment. But my wife does not see this as a big deal. She always told me that she can't stop the little girl from playing with other children in the hood and that's true. That day when I heard her say that word, I called her to myself and told her not to say the word again that it's not good saying such word, she nodded in approval.

Two days ago I heard her saying this common words "Eni pe". I felt really bad, because I don't want my daughter to learn those bad words, but my wife feel am overreacting.

Am I overreacting truly? How do I stop my daughter from saying such words?

Please help a friend
Just remember you are the father and head of the home, many menace we see in our society started from home and it was over looked. Call your wife to order and tell her to stop your daughter from all those unnecessary play when in shop. Occupy her with lesson or assignment.... you mentioned your wife’s shop is located somewhere rough, with the rate at which paedophiles are abusing children off and on news , do you think it’s advisable for your daughter to be out of your wife’s sight. Please protect that girl I beg you cos what I see these days makes me sick.

Effect of the society she's growing in. Keep training her that those are foul words.
Go further by listing popular slangs. Write them down & tell her the good ones and those you see as bad ones.
Zazoo & Eni pe are still fair. But if tolerated, she fit graduate to toto, puss y, werey, Ori e baje, ori e buru, oloshi, iya e, baba e, & so on.
you've made no sense, sorry if you find that disrespectful.

Are you saying a kid born and raised in Las Vegas has better moral standards than a kid raised in Chukwudili primary school Onitsha?

Trust me, you don’t know what you talking about.

Porsche kids are far more exposed than their counterparts. And when I mean exposure, I mean on all grounds. The good, bad, crazy, awkward and stupid you will find in such environments. They are only secured and protected and why you feel they don’t know much cos they confined.

Just gently guide her. Let your wife also support you in doing same since she is with her mom a lot of times.
Don't beat or yell at her but make your displeasure known in a daddy knows best and loves you kinda way.

seen a lot of c omments here full of hypocrisy, we are in society where media is not been regulated at all, music in this country travels like air even in some churches, some wordly beats and music were been played even in children parties, end of the year activities, school sports all these trending musics were been played, no way you can separate them from listening even Radio stations will play them you can only caution and screen thd bad words from the lyrics, you cant do without them sing cos u wont know how they learn it

WHEN WE LEAVE THE CHILDREN TO THE SOCIETY, THE INTERNET AND MEDIA TO RAISE FOR US; THAT'S WHAT'S UP.

This new generation marriage, nawaa. People come to Nairaland to help them with advise on how to tell their wives to stop cheating or how to rebuke a 2year old from saying foul words. Like, how do you guys cope? You can't even control a two year old. Well, my advice, buy chocolate for the child .

It's not your fault they are Portable's time children, lol, some how most kids like portable, if only he can be a good example to them. Just try to spend a lot of time with your kid and make her trust you enough to believe whatever you tell her is good or bad. That way she will even be the one correcting her peers outside the home.

I take God beg you, increase your overreaction. I know what you are saying and how you feel. Catch them young, no spare rod; though she's too young for the rod, but from time to time, you give her some stern but calm cautioning. No take chances, talk to your wife sternly about it because back then, na our mama d watch us keenly, no misbehavior. My cousin who's married with two kids has never beaten his children, but "Stop that" has kept the kids in check.

Don't laugh when they do it. It encourages the behavior.

You might want to put her on time-out or another mild punishment (e.g. take away favorite toy for 1 day) when she says it after you told her not to several times.

Give her more positive attention for doing the right things.

Op is just over-reacting. Its normal for kids to say such at that age as they pick words very fast. Even kids that were grown in missionary schools from birth know foul languages. What is you need just do is caution her.

In the society of today, you can NEVER prevent such but just curtail it.

Expect more in their teen years when they start mixing up in schools and social places. All the ills you feel you are preventing them knowing, they definitely will know on their own at that stage. You just have to keep educating them on the ills and disadvantages so they PERSONALLY decide not to use it. But them not knowing, its impossible!

The world is now wild. Pornography and foul languages has sank into humans.
