@microgiant,
Hey! Don't rush to the welder yet. Looks like I got that flat piece lying somewhere in my store - only I didn't know it was part of the 1m dish! Show the underside of that dish in the pix (for clarity) and call me later this evening. I might have good news for you!

Thanks.

Hi T-SHIRT,
Depends on where you live. Jack and positioners are between 3,500 to 4,000 each.

There is this misconception that some of the members here including myself are not longer here because we have moved to the dark side. For the benefit of doubt i use to check this thread atleast twice a day. I only contribute when the need arise. Personally I think almost all the areas that we need to discuss about satellite has been treated extensively. Also note that been satellite enthusiasts does not stop at fta alone,it include scramble and ta. If you look at the title of the child board it is satellite technology and not fta. What i do not always accept here is discussion on how to hack dstv because it is our national pay tv,that is the practice world wide.

I have involve in satellite work directly or indirectly since 1998,then it was Arab sat and astra analogue even before the advent of digital satellite technology. Also i have been watching scramble channels since 2000 beginning from sabc to hispasat,nilesat and hotbird,so I can not deny that. Restricting one self to fta alone is a personal choice,I feel been satellite enthusiasts encompass both fta and scrambled channels,it is a worldwide phenomenon.

I have given my dues to this forum and i will continue to offer assistance if am call upon or when the need arise. So enough of the so called gurus have left the forum to the dark side,am not a guru i still learn. I am not on the dark side,I started using the cardsharing facility even the advent of nairaland

D.lee:
Hey bro, you should take it easy with Ilish. He only tried to help. It is now left for Lanceosas to ask another question if he is not satisfied with the answer given to him. Dear lovala, if you are still in need of tracking trasponder of Intelsat 17 ku, then you can use this 11556 H 20129. I hope you won't misunderstand my statement?

Ilish: which qualms again?It seems you understand the question better than I.Answer him for me plz

@Illish: If you have the tracking tp for c-band or ku-band or both for Intelsat17, you should have posted it. That's what I meant. If I had it I would have given it like D.lee just did for the ku-band even if the question posted was ambiguous.

@D.lee: Thankx bro for the tracking tp. I'll use it and there is no fire in the house, just brotherly love.

@Pidzo: Na so nairaland fta board dey o. One luv.

@Adex70,
C band LNBs are of various types. Which one do you actually need? STRONG or SUPERMAX? If it is strong lnb, the best will be K6. If supermax, then you will need the extended range type vh-777. I will check and get back to you. Unfortunately I'm not home right now but as soon as I get back will surely see what I can do.

Respect to you and thanks for your detailed and honest reply. There is nothing one can add apart from agreeing that "almost all the areas that we need to discuss about satellite has been treated extensively" and the records show themselves if one goes back to what was discussed earlier. I also salute you for saying "Restricting one self to fta alone is a personal choice,I feel been satellite enthusiasts encompass both fta and scrambled channels,it is a worldwide phenomenon." People should move with times and accommodate new innovations. Things are no longer static.

Just noticed a Ugandan TV station known as CHANNEL 44 on Intelsat 10Ku at 68.5°E. Freq. 12602 V 26657. It is a religious TV station privately owned by Rubaga Miracle Centre of Pastor Robert Kayanja. They also air local news and political debates in both English and Luganda. Very entertaining if you are from Uganda.

Just noticed that STRONG SRT 4930 (S/W Version: 1.25p) has a very sophisticated satellite finder with a spectrum analyzer. While in normal channel viewing, press the green button and a sat finder window will come up with instructions. Those of you who understand how it works, please educate us on the best way to use it. I landed on it by accident while watching the Tour de France on Dubai Sports HD (Yahsat 1A at 52.5°E) freq. 11823 H 27500. The "TOUR" is also available on TV 5 (French dialog) Astra 4A @ 4.8°E freq. 12605 V 29950 and Dubai Sports (Arabic dialog) Nilesat 201 freq. 11785 V 27500. Only Dubai Sports HD on Yahsat has the English dialog with sharp pictures in glorious HD. By the way a number of AD Sports HD channels on Nilesat are currently FTA showing the Wembledon tennis tournaments in London. Enjoy.
