No! You can't own a person, male or female. However, relationships infer certain expectations, especially fidelity, loyalty and kindness. You can literally "hear" the pain in the OP's voice. It takes a decent guy to feel that bad about a partner's infidelity. He is probably one of the good guys.

Being decent is not the same thing as being a simp. She's done him bad. I only hope he will do the right thing: have a conversation (not confrontation) with his partner and then make a decision. I still don't understand why anyone will think twice about walking away from a relationship once infidelity occurs.

Unless you have been compelled, the general expectation is that when you agree to be in a relationship with someone, then you are being " deliberate with your feelings". You make a deliberate decision that this is the guy you want to invest your feelings in for as long as it lasts. It also means that when you decide you want someone else, you will also be deliberate with your feelings by first disengaging from your current partner before entangling with the next one.

Seems you've made up your mind on the nature and type of relationship you want and are simply shifting the goal post to suit your views.
