I tend to agree with you. GEJ is the only other politician that has national appeal to take on Atiku. Tinubu is popular in the South West, but in the North, he is only popular among the political elites (for obvious reasons). He is not popular among the ordinary people. In the SS/SE, Tinubu will not get the required 25%. He is loathed in the SS. He has no political relevance in the SS/SE. Atiku is hugely popular in the SS/SE. Even in the South West Atiku will drag it with Tinubu.

Goodluck Jonathan is quite popular with the Northern masses. Has the SS/SE in the pocket. Not so popular in the Southwest, but still make the required 25%. This must the the calculation of Buhari for dragging Goodluck Jonathan into APC send into the presidential race.

So southerners have to make a choice. Support Jonathan and make do with 4 year rule or have another northerner - Atiku president for another 8 years.

I pity some of you southerners who are still ignorant of brotherhood of the North or Hausafulani bond. There is no way a Northerner would prefer Tinubu to Lawan. Just see what Tambuwa just did for Atiku in stepping down. Wike would have won if not that Tambuwa divided Atiku's votes. Despite the obvious relationship between wike and Tambuwa, he been a Northerner comes first before bestie.

The only southern aspirant that can give it to Atiku is GEJ: because some PDP royalist will still vote for him, people will emphasize with him for what he did in handing over peacefully, SS/ SE will still vote for him despite been PDP, APC will vote for him since he will be contesting on their platform. With Baba Buhari's support, more support will go to him.
The igbos will massively vote for him instead of Obi, not that they don't love Obi but that Obi's chances in his party platform to win is certain.
Igbos will vote massively for GEJ this time around knowing that it is impossible for him not to que in to their demands. GEJ will favour them knowing he is there for one tenure. SW wont be happy because they will see it as an extension of Igbo domination as was seen in GEJ last tenure.

1) south east and South south will see it as a short cut to power when they have to wait for another sixteen years
2)the southwest refuse to step down for south east so east won support d west presidential aspirate

Edo governorship election is different. That’s governorship.

Even in that governoship election, Obaseki scored 57% which means that if we are to judge by that, Asiwaju can conveniently score 40% of the votes in Edo which will be a great outcome for him.

If you understand politics, Edo has always been a close state with PDP having upper hand with 55/45 or 60/40 sometimes.

Lets fold our hands and watch APC primaries. If he wins it I will truly believe he has influence even though we know the delegates are for highest bidder.

Stop deceiving yourself. The Lagos 6m voters is about 30% yoruba max. The rest are other Nigerians, mostly Igbos. Wait until Obi show face in Lagos. So, when mentioning SE, do not just look at the region. Use your sense and estimate what happens every day Igbos mark the death of fallen heroes. Lagos goes blind.
