We “Christians” have failed God. God didn’t call us to be a religious sect or organization. Jesus was always against religion and religious leaders. They were the only ones he used the word “WOE” to. He never used it for any government or political person. God rules in a kingdom, we are His citizens and therefore should be kings and queens on earth. Every kingdom has a government, therefore it’s political. The Bible says: “For unto us a child is born, unto a son is given. And the GOVERNMENT SHALL BE UPON HIS SHOULDERS, and His name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father and the Prince of peace...” Jesus came carrying the government of God’s kingdom upon His shoulders and He dropped/released it for/to us. That is why Jesus said: I will build my “church” and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. He meant CHURCH there to mean “Ecclesia” which is an Hebrew word which means Cabinet which is actually a political term. This means that Jesus actually came to call us into a political system for His government....but we, thanks to the devil’s scheme and wisdom/deceit, turned it into a religious group or body (the very thing that Jesus was mainly against when He came to the earth - the same very thing that sent Him to the cross and killed Him) All these is deep...seems strange and sounds crazy to you, even me, I’m still trying to fully understand it because of the yearssss of wrong teachings and beliefs. There are many more truths to unravel... reach out to me let’s rub minds and discuss more if you’re interested. Peace. |

Reconciling The Sacred Values And The Secular Ethos Politics affects everyone- whether we admit it or not. No matter how much you try to impact society, if you don't become a bit political through your interventions, that impact will never be felt. This is because the political world is animated by considerations of power, justice and other issues that affect the general society. If Christians don't get involved in partisan politics, then, they are in more ways than one acquiescing to the misdeeds of the misfits and no-usefuls who take over. Let's go ecclesiastical: Joseph was a prime minister- the first agro-economist in the world. Daniel was also a prime minister. He served three kings, Mordecai started as a slave, then later became a prime minister. Nehemiah was a butler and a governor. David was a king, a politician and a stateman. It's left for you as a Christian to define who you'll be through your character. You play the political game without allowing the tenets of your faith and attachments to be eroded away by the corrupting influence of the dark art- politics. Daniel was ten times wiser than the so called wise men of Mesopotamia, Persia and the surrounding nations. In fact, so pervasive and influential were his outstanding qualities as a leader and person that historians and Bible scholars have coined the term, The Daniel Spirit- the spirit of excellence. 2 Likes 1 Share |

No, because politics is a system of the world. And God doesn't interfere in the affairs of man. Man position on earth is meant to glorify God, thus the reason the bible says the earth is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. We ought to remember God cursed the earth in place of man, when Jesus came to die his death was a significance. The torns, nail and blood where all of a significance. This means Jesus dying is meant to draw man to God and in turn man ought to redeem earth unto God. Now look at the politics of man and the energy that comes with it death, destruction, starvation, in fact everything contrary to the commandments of God. God said if you love you will keep my commandments. Does politics in anyway do this? The manifestation of man who saved is meant to be felt by his fellow man via love which is giving to those in need, been selfless and also taking care the earth and everything that was put into it. Does politics carry such energy? God is light and can't and will never dwell in darkness. He knows those who are his children and will always respond to them in their time of need. |

Omooba77: From experience, YES. But not me There are Christians that are called to something else in the body of Christ. But those who feel they have the gifts of government and feel so led should be encouraged to engage. Otherwise, na only prayers we go dey pray, Yahoo boys and gays will be ruling us and making laws for us. 1 Like 1 Share |

SINCE THE FALL OF HUMANITY, THE KINGDOM OF THIS WORLD HAS BEEN UNDER SATAN'S CONTROL AND CHRIST DIDNT DISPUTE THIS WHEN SATAN, WHEN SATAN CLAIMED IT IN MATTHW 4. EVERY GOVT OF THIS WORLD IS CONTROLLED BY SATAN AND ANY ONE INVOLVED IN POLITICS IS DIRECTLY WORKING UNDER SATAN. A GOOD EXAMPLE IS OSIBANJO WHO LEFT PULPIT TO WORK UNDER SATAN, SELLING HIS BIRTHRIGHT FOR A TASTE OF POLITICAL POWER THE WAY ESAU SOLD HIS BIRTH RIGHT FOR MERE POTTAGE. |

APOSTLECHUMA: Bro, same should then be said of Joseph, Daniel, Joseph of Arimathea, Zaccheus and other rich men that followed Jesus. What i have noticed is that the church abandons her own to a pack of wolves in government. Then if he manages to triumph and become governor, president, vice president, Senate president, Vice chancellor etc, we'll start claiming he's our member and he should remember to do good especially to the body of Christ. We start inviting him for our big programmes to talk to us and our young ones. Na person wey make am we wan follow. 1 Like 1 Share |

Dey there dey ask mumu questions, all the bad bad things for Nigeria no be christians and Muslims dey do them. Politics is a way of life, if Christians love money, what stops them from participating in politics? We all know Christianity is just a tag, a religion... spirituality and being good is far from them. |

You have seen how the principal candidates of the two leading parties emerged and you still asking this question?? You are gone already. What happened to the ranking Christians in the APC and the PDP. One quit to avoid bribery, the other offered his widows mite and came a cropper.... such is the lot of real Christians who try to force their way into secular activities, they often, certainly fall flat. However the way God brings His people into serving humanity on the other hand has always been out of necessity, for instance, when the people have suffered enormously over a protracted period of time or endured great calamity or are in great peril that their souls are shredded and open to accepting His ways and receiving His people.... and from all indications Nigerians are not there yet, our matter is still on the stove, gradually boiling... When Nigeria is ready to receive a Christian in power it will be by 'CONSENSUS'. |

jimmynauty: Chief. There is NO WAY on earth a real Christian can be approved by men to rule over them on a bright and sunny day.... no matter the consequences. For God to choose out of His disciples to lead the world is lending to a system that He has no control over. For how can He be building two dipolar kingdoms on earth at the same time. So the few times He lends men to be leaders in the world will be for the serious reasons that they are in dire need, in serious danger and they cry out to God for help.... and the great purpose will be to bring them out of whatever system wrecked their lives in the first place. |
