I don't know if they can't see this themselves. A divided opposition is no opposition. It would've been interesting if Obi/kwankwaso could form a merger. They're making it an easy ride because the both of them have succeeded in emasculating the pdp and atiku without knowing it.

you obviously dnt understand northwest is sealed for tinubu, apc has at least 14 state in the north if not more than that, he has been holding several meetings with those governors for more than 2yeras now while atiku was busy enjoying life in dubai and you think they will dump someone who has always shown interest in them for someone who dnt care about their interest.

This was the same thing we told them before the primary election but they never learn. When the results came out they started crying Tinubu bought delegates. I just dey laff

Don't forget, the north west is entirely Apc dominated with governors, senators, rep members, house of assembly members, LGAs chairmen, councillors, political appointees. They'll all work assiduously for the party at all levels. Buhari will be working for his party too in the zone don't forget. That's the structure we talk about.

There'll be no merger of Obi and kwankwaso. That's obvious, nobody will step down for anybody. I'm not sure Obi can find any northerner half as popular as kwankwaso from the north to deputize him.

Lol.

Don’t make me laugh. It’s too early in the day for a smiling face.

With what is happening around Obi right now and what is to come, Obi doesn’t really need someone as popular as Kwankwaso. Just someone who can guarantee some fraction of the votes from the core north.

Now talking about structure in Kano and other Northwest states, you remember Anambra and Edo elections?

APC was still the ruling party when they lost these states because the people didn’t want them.

Kano people don’t want APC anymore. They don’t want Tinubu and they don’t even like Buhari again.

So, how will structure deliver a disenchanted people?

All these stewpid analysis. North Central is Obi 100%. A large junk of west will vote Obi. There are silent followers in core north.

We have only campaigned do 2 weeks and gathered this momentum. Next few months will give you a better picture.

Obi has free advertisers, volunteers not bought with money. This is priceless. How many politicians - Atiku, Thiefnubu, or even Kwankwaso will people volunteer for free? We have volunteers even in core North for Obi. How many free volunteers does Kwankwaso have in South and North Central? Zero

Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Abuja, Benue, Niger are all APC....which of the North central states are you hoping Obi will win?

Mark my word,The only region that remain for Peter Obi is the 2 core Northern regions because the South East, the South South, the North Central and the Millions of enlightened South Westerners too..(The APC greatest mistake was to denied Yemi Osibanjo the ticket)
See, Tinubu will not even win South West because people's eyes are opening and many educated Yorubas will be eager to make a statement, forget what all these myopic simpletons are doing here, constituting nuisance in hyping their demi god Tinubu and the system of rigging or thugs will be curtail this time because people are tired and ready to deal with any miscreants , thugs or agberos this time...
If not for financial inducement, tribal or religious sentiment, how would a sane man especially the youths supporting APC,the same party and the same man that brought calamities in the Country, the same man that kept mute when the Fulani herdsmen murdered people in his own region just for his own selfish desire..person that prefer his ambition to a human life...damn..

i know you support obi but try to realistic with urself the only region certain for obi is SS&SE obi will not win a single state in the north and you must be joking about southwest, you think southwest will vote obi after you make the election tribal, i can sure you tinubu is getting nothing less than 70% vote in southwest, i will urge you to go check voting pattern whenever southwest has a major candidate on the ballot.
the vote obi will get in southwest is from igbo living there and few yorubas, tinibu is getting block vote, the election is now tribal, any good observing mind will know this movement is tribal

Let me quickly correct you about Edo State because that's my state. Obaseki left Apc with more than half of the party structure and went into the pdp with an equally formidable structure in the state. PDP is very strong in Edo State. They've always won the general elections in Edo. Their only problem was the state election.

Let's not delude ourselves bro. If Buhari is on the ballot for 2023 he'll still win Kano handsomely. We thought they were disenchanted in 2019 but baba still got over a million votes in Kano and swept the entire north west again. All the federal lawmakers in the north that left Apc for pdp never returned except Dogara from bauchi. Bros leave Buhari matter oooo.

My poser to you now is that: who's now that person that can deliver the fraction of northern votes you talked about for Peter Obi as a vice?

The PDP lost two very eminent personalities in the persons of Obi and kwankwaso recently,to the labour party and new Nigeria people's party respectively.

The implications of their entry into the race is turning out to be an indirect projection of Tinubu's presidency in the long run unless they merge.

The Peter Obi frenzy will not go beyond the South South and South East. These are the PDP strongholds in the south originally. Obi will end up having a deadly bite on what is supposed to be a bloc vote for the PDP in the SS and SE thereby leaving the PDP with nothing substantial from the South. As it stands today, the only part of the South that will deliver a bloc vote is the South West. They clearly have not bought into the Obi frenzy for obvious reasons.

Kwankwaso like Obi will not go far outside his region of core north. He'll again like Obi have a huge bite off the votes of Atiku in the core north. Although Atiku is expected to win the north east on aggregate, he will surely lose in places like Yobe and Bornu. Apc governors in the north and Buhari will work assiduously to get votes for their party, the kwankwansiya movement will get its own share and Atiku also his own share of the northern votes. The implication is that there'll be no bloc vote for anybody in the core north this time.

The beautiful fertile bride in the presidential race will be the north central region. They've neither bought into the Obi frenzy nor shown much enthusiasm for any particular candidate or party. I think any candidate or party that is able to win big in the north central will have the brightest chance of winning the presidential election. Obviously this region will be split between Tinubu of the APC and Atiku of the PDP.

In summary, the 2023 presidential election is strictly between Tinubu of the APC and Atiku of the PDP. Kwankwaso of NNPP and Obi of LP are mere spoilers who can't go far, beyond their immediate regions and fringes. Their only chance is a merger which is most unlikely because of the overly ambitious personalities involved.

By the way, this write up is not for the emotional political neophytes on nairaland.
As I said before, kwakwanso is more than likely to strike a deal with who he presumes will win the general election.
I am confident that he won't merge with obi cos it will be futile effort to do that.

Firstly, nobody denied Osinbajo the Apc ticket, he was roundly defeated in a free and fair contest. He didn't even finish second,so Tinubu was never his problem because in his absence Amaechi would've been the candidate.

Secondly, I don't hate Obi or any ibo, my analysis is dispassionate and realistic. The bitter truth is that Obi does not have what it takes to win a national election just yet especially in a narrow party like LP.

Finally, this is democracy and we should all learn to respect the rights of one another to make choices. Have a great day.

Politics is a science bro. My analysis is based on precedence and existing political structures in those areas. Just wait and see. Have you asked yourself why Apc keeps winning Lagos and PDP keeps winning Abia?
APC keeps winning Lagos because it's a stronghold for the party. Unlike North-central which is no-man's land (neutral territory ).

As it stands now, people of from north-central have been humbled by the herdsmen crisis which this administration has failed to tackle...and if you look at states like Benue, Plateau, and Nasarawa , that have been greatly affected, do you think they'd vote in 8 more years of insecurity? undecided.

Let us understand here that this election will be won based on sympathy , rather than political affiliations

Let’s not be emotional like you said and be practical.

You admitted Peter Obi frenzy is sweeping across Southeast and Southsouth. That’s about 90% of SE votes for Peter Obi and 70% SS for him. Whatever percentage that is left is for Atiku and Tinubu.

Now, you dubiously refused to recognize the fact that there was a 1 million man match for Peter Obi in Lagos and Ibadan. There may have been other states in Southwest but I’m sure of those two states. The implication is that SW is not completely immune from the Peter Obi frenzy like you wrongly painted.

Again if Tinubu ends up going with a Muslim Muslim ticket, more Christians in the Southwest will vote against him. You know this fact. Except you want to be emotional and sentimental.

At the end, Peter Obi is getting nothing less than 30% from Southwest. This could be more but let me be circumspect.

Now, in the north, Southern Kaduna is more OBIdient than Igbos sef. Same with Plateau, Taraba, Southern Gombe, Southern Bauchi, Benue, etc. Before you argue, remind me which state priest barred faithfuls from entering the church for not having PVCs. Who do you think they want the PVCs for? Atiku and Tinubu?

So in the end, we might see Obi winning Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Southern Kaduna, Southern Gombe, Southern Bauchi, etc. That will be about 60% of North Central votes. You know this, except you wanna be emotional.

Now, if the deal with Kwankwaso materializes or even if it doesn’t and Obi gets another popular northerner as Running Mate, that will give him a little chunk of the votes of the core north too.

Calculate the percentages and that’s victory for Obi.

Now, tell us, aside Southwest, where else is Tinubu sure of votes after Kwankwaso conquered northwest?

lolz, you are very funny , they are not up to a thousand and 90% of them are igbos living in those cities, lagos and ibadan has alot of igbos residing and doing businees there which is the 15% obi and atiku will split plus few yorubas and you must be truly delusional to think obi will win this" Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Southern Kaduna, Southern Gombe, Southern Bauchi" with APC and PDP as a sitting governor in those states, southwset and northwest is sealed for tinubu and only reason obi is getting SS&SE is because of his from that region and they want power so badly.

So many people wouldn't have bothered voting if the race was between just atiku and tinubu. Unless those that mostly want to receive something for their vote

I mean why on earth should I spend my quality time to stand on the qué just to vote for either of this men. It's between choosing the devil and the deep blue sea and it's hard to even tell which of them is which

Peter obi followers are organic and working class citizens that are fed up of the state of leadership. We're tired of I don't care leaders that can't even address the citizens or represent our best interest even when abroad

The good thing about Peter obi is that if he wins it will be fully obvious that the Nigerian people elected him there..and if he messes up (which I don't see happening) then the citizens will kick him out in the next election

For goodness sake we need to not only uplift ourselves but Africa and the entire black race. We're the number one black country in the world and it's a shame we're failing so much when we should be competing with USA, China etc or atleast close. Peter obi is not a magician but atleast he will usher in a new era..An era were we have thinking leaders. An era were power belongs to the people

It's time that Nigerian leaders realize power belongs the citizens. Any government that underperforms needs to be voted out

We're not puppets. We want better leaderships

yes, the race is between Atiku and tinubu but choice of vp will also affect tinubu, osibanjo would have been a better candidate for apc and Nigerians I'm sure some igbo youths will vote for him plus he will get strong northern Muslim and his loyalty to buhari all these would have worked for Osinbajo tinubu will find it difficult to find generally acceptable vp and I'm not sure if tinubu public outburst against buhari will not work again him in the North

the vote obi will get in southwest is from igbo living there and few yorubas, tinibu is getting block vote, the election is now tribal, any good observing mind will know this movement is tribal

I dislike Nigerian politicians because they're all wicked and selfish buh the truth is that I supported Obasanjo,Yar'adua,Jonathan (when I was still there in Nigeria) and Atiku (when i wasn't there in Nigeria via online)because Nigerian were always faced with two worst choices buh among them,I so much Loved Yar'adua because he was and still the best....
That cunning impression that Igbos have made the process a tribal project is just a silly lies concorted by Tinubu's supporters...
If Igbos keep mute on Peter Obi's presidency, you guys would lament that they don't love themselves and if they come out to support him,the same you guys would still lament that they're making it a tribal thing..
See guy,if you hate somebody, the hatred is there already and it will take a very special grace to take the hate off you because there's nothing Igbos can do to please many of you people.
It's tribal election now because Igbo man is in the picture because Tinubu got nothing to campaign with except his normal ethnic, tribal and religious card only...
Let me ask you,if Tinubu is contesting with only Atiku, would he be playing all these ethic, religious and tribal card huh because he knew he will fail at it even before the election start proper....( I wouldn't blame those they said that the hatred from some Yorubas for Igbos is what's keeping Nigeria together because the attack on Peter Obi is mindboggling even when he's not in the main opposition party and 90% of the attacks are from Yoruba people because Atiku is not their problem again,so what are you going to call this one,*PURE LOVE* I guess huh?.when other tribe do something is normal buh when Igbos does the same, you guys read tribal meaning into it and Tinubu that you guys are supporting, are you supporting him because he's credible, competent, healthy and fit enough to be president if not for your own tribal sentiment huh? I've been reading some comments here for many years if you don't know buh the greatest supporter of Peter Obi is Edo people and I wish many Nigerians will emulate Edo ways of doing Politics and not been blinded by hatred niii)
Tinubu's pattern is to view Peter Obi as an Ipob or Igbo agenda or even a christian project of which his urchins have been displaying here since and I ask you,to which end?
Finally, reasonable and responsible Yorubas ain't buying into that your tribal and ethnic card because their eyes have opened and they know Tinubu is a bad market..if Yemi Osibanjo is in the game,it could've make more sense buh due to evil and greed,he was sidelined...
Though nothing concerns me with the Nigerian politics buh Peter Obi remains the best among them and he may likely win if paired with a strong Northern vice candidate... I rest my case..Gracias!!!!

I agree substantially with this submission but I'm dead sure that the South West will most definitely give Tinubu a solid bloc vote. The issue of Muslim Muslim ticket is just a propaganda. Tinubu made it clear in Ekiti that the Vice President position belongs to the north east and a christian.

Some people wouldn't know the kind of message Peter Obi's Presidency will pass across peradventure he wins because politicians will wake up and start working for the people for the fear of been voted out while Tinubu and Atiku's presidency will doom Nigeria(continuation of the status quo of subjugations, sicknesses, illiteracies, poverty and hopelessness in the country) and mark my word,Nigeria will stop existing if any of them win because 20% of Nigerians will find their exit out of the country.
Check Peter Obi's supporters and check Tinubu's supporters, then you will understand why Nigeria is like that because no sensible person suppose to been in love with his oppressors buh look at some youths, fighting and defending their oppressors just because of financial inducement, tribal and religious sentiment.. I rest my case..... Gracias!!!!

But you forgot that 100% of Christians has already rejected Muslim/Muslim ticket. This means that in the SW the Abado boys will be rejected .

I'm from core North and APC is the strongest party in the North. Forget about politicians jumping out of APC. This happens in every election season, those who are denied ticket return to NASS due to zoning or Governors contesting for senate in their position always changer party...

i know you support obi but try to realistic with urself the only region certain for obi is SS&SE obi will not win a single state in the north and you must be joking about southwest, you think southwest will vote obi after you make the election tribal, i can sure you tinubu is getting nothing less than 70% vote in southwest, i will urge you to go check voting pattern whenever southwest has a major candidate on the ballot.
the vote obi will get in southwest is from igbo living there and few yorubas, tinibu is getting block vote, the election is now tribal, any good observing mind will know this movement is tribal

Your head is very correct. A lot of people are sleeping on the emerging scenario that the campaigns — and by projection, the elections proper — are increasingly being fought along tribal lines, for the most part.

IMHO, this trend will become even more so as the elections approach, particularly in the southern parts of the country, which hitherto had been dubbed "more enlightened," at least literally.

Good luck to all sides.

I rest my case.Gracias!!!!

Mehn, you appear to believe, with every fiber in your body, that the Yoruba have an unjustified hatred for the Igbo? And that the problem of the Igbo and the rest of the nation, is the Yoruba and Tinubu?

If so, or even a quarter so, then I'll tell you this: If you haven't realized that most Yoruba also think of most Igbo in equal measure as you're indicating the Igbo think of the Yoruba, then your analyses and raw sentiments — especially in the realms of politics and political power — will remain unrealistic and always fail.

'Nuf said.
