Why Peter Obi And Kwankwaso Coalition Collapsed - Okupe, Umeh by ProfesawFred(m): 4:25am On Jul 06, 2022
Former National Chairma of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Victor Umeh, said yesterday that the coalition talks between the Labour Party, LP, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, ended on June's 15.

Umeh, who is vying for a senatorial seat on the platform of LP, said the talks “collapsed completely” because both parties could not agree on who will be the presidential candidate.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Umeh faulted the presidential candidate of NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, for giving the impression that the talks between both parties were still in progress.

Umeh, who disclosed that the Labour Party was no longer interested in “every other discussion” with the NNPP, said: “We are surprised at the recent media blaze by the members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to continuously suggest that they were locked in a negotiation with the Labour Party to have a partnership or arrangement where the two parties will work together in 2023.

“We are surprised to continuously see this, we had this discussion precisely on June 15, more than three weeks ago. What necessitated the meeting was that the NNPP and LP working together will give a better opportunity for the presidential election to be won. And the two parties set up two teams.

“Myself, Julius Aboreh, the Labour Party chairman who led our team; Doyin Okupe went to that discussion on behalf of the Labour Party; while the NNPP put forward Buba Galadima, Abdullahi Baffa, former executive secretary of TETFUND, and Ladipo Johnson.

“It was a three-man team; we met for long hours, adjourned and we came back. When it became obvious that it had become a dialogue between a deaf and dumb person, we called off the negotiation.[b]

[b]LP may pick Senator Baba Ahmed as Obi’s running mate

Also, the Labour Party temporary Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr Doyin Okupe, said the LP/NNPP alliance talks had collapsed.

Speaking on Channels Television Politics Today programme, yesterday, Okupe said the merger failed because Kwankwaso of the NNPP insisted on being the presidential flagbearer, even when a Northern Muslim of same North-West geo-political zone, President Muhammadu Buhari, is about to complete eight years in office.

He said during coalition talks he had asked the NNPP leadership if it was fair to field Kwankwaso, a northerner, of which the NNPP leadership said there was nothing wrong with that.

Okupe revealed that LP is now looking at young running mate of northern extraction.

Vanguard gathered yesterday that Senator Datti Baba Ahmed, 46, from Kaduna State may be picked as Obi’s running mate.

Senator Ahmed, who has four degrees including a PhD was a member of the House of Representatives (2003 and 2007), and was elected Senator (Kaduna North) in 2011 on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC. He is the founder and pro-Chancellor of Baze University.

Kwankwaso is not at per with Obi in anything.

From the look of things, the northern Fulanis are not ready to relinquish power to the south . It appears that they want to deceive everyone receivable to continue with their business of killing the country. Most APC members are already decamping to PDP especially in the North. The emergence of Peter Obi is now their greatest threat as they know that the youths are massively behind him. The attacks on the presidential team and Kuje prison are calculated attempts to declare that the civilian cannot rule the country. They may opt for interim government or military coup. This people appear not to be ready for the elections. But God will prove them wrong.

I like the way Okupe was emphatically unequivocal in stating that the proposal for a merger was dead.

It died as far back as four weeks ago, the moment they tried to justify why it did not matter that a northerner ( Kwankwaso- Kano ) from the same geopolitical zone as the outgoing president ( Buhari- Katsina) , could succeed him over a region ( South East ) that had not produced even a vice president in the modern democratic era. (23 years,1999- 2022)

Labour party quickly moved on. No time to check time. Kwankwaso greed and lack of awareness cost him an easy shot at the presidency after Peter Obi. We thought he had the interest of Nigeria at heart not knowing he is a closet tribal bigot. Make Kwankwaso come test him popularity for national level, make we see, shebi he believes we are only on social media.

Good news is that he will split northern votes with Atiku and Tinubu. Obi sef go collect him own share from the millions of southerners and right thinking northeners in the north who want real change.

Obi will clear the whole of south south and the south east. He will win Lagos and Ondo in the west and the whole of the christian middle belt who fulani kill everyday like flies. The used to vote APC and PDP believing that one is a lesser evil. Now a credible and good alternative has come and they will choose good over evil.

I count 19 states for Labour Party.

*********************************************
For those wondering why Tinubu will lose Lagos and Ondo. Let me quickly remind you that Tinubu is a muslim and muslims are minority in the South west and a very very tiny minority in the South as a whole.

The day those terrorists went to kill christians inside the church in Owo,Ondo state is the day the entire complexion of this election cycke changed. As a result normally docile Christians and their Clergy woke up to participate in politics as against the tradition not to be openly involved.

It is a quest for SURVIVAL. This is no ordinary election.it is not about APC or PDP or LP. Itbis about the character of those ehi Nigerians want in leadership. Agents of corruption oppression and hardship or an individual who actually cares about the people.

so you think peter obi is bigger kwankwanso in the scheme of Nigeria's national politics?
any party that will eventually win the presidency will have to at one point either an alliance with kankwanso , no one will even bother to look at the side of peter obi , but no need to argue about it , time will tell.

all these peter obi noise will soon die down ,just wait and see .
This goes to show that you lack sense, insight & political acumen.
Joe Biden was already into U.S politics for more than 35 years, but yet he agreed to be the vice to a rookie like Obama because he knew that the momentum was on Obamas' side.
Right now everyone understands that it's the turn of the south to rule, & everyone knows that Peter Obi has more momentum right now than the so called Kwankwanso.
Kwankwaso should just get ready to lose again because he just made a very big mistake.
Beyond the north, he's an unknown entity.
& he would most definitely share northern votes with Atiku.
He only got popular in the south this year after he started trending with Peter Obis' name, but that doesn't mean that anyone in the south would leave Tinubu or Obi to vote for him either.
There's no way he can win the presidential election with only northern votes.
His best option would have been to collaborate with Obi.
But unfortunately northerners are always greedy and tribalistic, & they feel that ruling Nigeria is forever their birthright.

Imagine after Buhari eight years, equity demands that Kwakwanso should allow Obi to lead. If not for the backward system of Nigeria, let them present their CVs. For goodness sake, a businessman thinks of how to increase the value of his money while a politician thinks of how to deceive the people every election period. Imagine deceiving the masses that the talks are still ongoing whereas no one was still negotiating with him. THIS IS A LONE GOAL.

If Obi wants to lose the followership he has garnered already, let him make the mistake of deputising anyone. Na Obi people want support, not an ally who hopes to coast to victory through Obi's growing popularity

Ok Naa.
..
..
MEANWHILE...
GO AND VERIFY.

..
Two men were governors: one in Lagos, the other in Anambra.
Towards the end of their second term, the one in Lagos sent his retirement bill and got his house of assembly to approve what you see below as his yearly pension.

1. 300% annual salary as severance package as approved by RMAFAC.
2. 100% of annual basic salary of incumbent gov as salary for LIFE even after leaving office.
3. Six new cars every 3 years
4. A new house in Lagos, minimum 5 bedroom
5. A new house in Abuja or any other location, minimum 5 bedroom.
6. Free medical care for him and members of his family for life.
7. Entitled to cooks, stewards, Gardners, and domestic staffs, all pensionable.
8. 300% of his annual basic salary as governor every 2 years as furniture allowance
9. 100% of annual basic salary as governor as his house maintenance allowance
10. Two DSS officers, 1 female officer for his wife and eight policemen to guard him.
11. 25% of his annual basic salary for personal assistants.
12. 30% of his annual basic salary for car maintenance .
13. 20% of his annual basic salary as utilities maintenance.
14. Pensionable drivers, no limits to the number.

(This is apart from what he gets as a percentage of collections from the firm - Alpha Beta - which collects tax for Lagos State, and the total control he has over the governors and the treasury.)
..
..
But See what Peter Obi collects from Anambra State since leaving office as governor:

1. No gratuity
2. No pensions
3. No houses
4. No cars
5. No allowances of any kind
6. No maintenances of any kind.
7. No personal assistants paid by the state.
8. No domestic staffs paid by the state.
9. No aids sponsored by the state.
10. Not even pure water.
11. No shishi from the State.

Now the two men want to be president.

So choose you today who means well for Nigeria and who will serve the people selflessly.

I am just exposing your mind to see the truth.
It is now your decision to make and convince others.
Use your reasoning..
Vote and support wisely….

igbos are not calling for separate country because they love to. It is because the north are marginalising other tribes including the west. If the Nigeria system is working well, nobody will agitate. Imagine a country where northerners are controlling all the juicing and key positions and many more. nothing is working well in Nigeria. Corruption and nepotism. Let's all join hands to vote a good leader in the coming election. let's forget tribe. All we need is a good leader. Someone who can take us out from this mess Buhari had put us.

Another Buhari 2.0 is what you are trying to impose on innocent Nigerians.
Someone who would be traveling on medical trips with tax payers money every month.
May God judge you for being this heartless & wicked, & may the health of your entire family, blood-line & generation be as bad as his health.
That is the sick man who couldn't hold common A.P.C flag up without support, & you expect him to stand in a United Nations meeting & address the world leaders.
If you don't have Shame, there are lots of sensible Nigerians like me who are tired of being disgraced globally.
Just a simple prayer, & i need you to proudly say AMEN to it.
MAY YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY'S HEALTH BE LIKE THAT OF THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE YOU ARE SUPPORTING.
Finally i am a proud Peter Obi supporter, & i am proud to be as healthy as he is.
VOTE PETER OBI FOR A HEALTHY NIGERIA.

Why not promote your own preferred candidate, rather than trolling Peter Obi as if he's the only other presidential candidate. Why is Peter Obi a huge burden on your soul, what is it about him that is paining your spirit. Obi should be thankful to Atiku. After he completed his 8 years tenure under APGA, he quickly ported to PDP. Atiku helped him by making Obi his running mate. Since then, he has been feeling bigger than the person that made him relevant beyond his state of origin. 2023 will fix everything; Tinubu will relegate him and send Atiku to retirement. Tinubu the serial winner!
