i am not a witness but i advise you to stay on your religion, those things you mentioned are not that bad except, not marrying outside religion,, its not right but i dont think that is tru as i have seen some withness marrying outside religion, in the first case of christmas, you should nt be jealous seing people do it, why? there is no place it is written in the Bible, same thing applys to birthdays, unless critism like the case of John's Daughter or sth where the head was Beheaded, also for the easter, there was nothing of such and rather, a different name entirely was used, only God knows where the romans got it from, what else, New year? go and check very well, January is not the first month, you all know that, we are just following Roman calender, you can celebrate you entered a new year according to roman calender but not the worldly way people do it like they are appeasing a god, as the bible says it clearly that noting(no date) should be fixed for celebrating something unless it is on the bible,,  study the bible very well and get your head clear, if you need these proofs on the bible verses, post it and i will find them for you,,  been a long time i opened the bible, lol. just pray that our generation understands this better and choose the right way, ,

Yes the witness don't celebrate all those things because they are worldly, but what of fornication, drunkenness, ciga, just to name but a few. I know many witnesses who do those things but I know you will say they are not true Jehovah witness. The word JEHOVAH is from which language? If you say Hebrew, there is not letter J in Hebrew alphabet, so where did it come from.  Yahweh is God is Hebrew just like Yahshua is Jesus in Hebrew too. @ OP, i think you are going about this the wrong way and this makes it look like you are not a true JW.
I have worked and skooled with JW, Eckankar, Grail message pple and i will say based on personality, they are all nice pple.
The JW pple i knw are actually very intelligent and well read (you don't sound like one) i also know them to be very reserved (always minding their biz).
this life is a choice. choose what u feel is best for you. Some of the regular christian's u seem to envy do not watch TV, do not wear trousers, no earrings (for ladies), some walk bare footed to church, some even get strokes of cane at church (Rev King) etc just to mention a few.
get ur thinking right and go about ur disassociation  the right way.

this is to the true JW guys in here. kindly shed more light on why JW peeps do not accept blood transfusion. when i was working at aba some years back as an intern, the secretary at the office was seriously ill, slumped at the office. she was rushed to a hospital after the check up and all, she needed blood. we contacted her family and they refused. this lady had a card in her purse to say (cant remember the exact words) she was JW and wont accept blood transfusion.


On a lighter note, found this a lil amusing anyways. attended a JW wedding somwhr in surulere. we had riddles and jokes, cross sword (bible competition) and finally, when it was time to give d couple gifts, a different section was created outside the reception hall for all those with gifts. you av to queue up, unwrap your gifts to show the content and you write down your name so the couple can contact you after the wedding.

When i read threads like dis and listen to how ignorant most pple are abt witnesses and the teachings from the bible, their past e.t.c., i just cannot wait to finish my study and become a member. I have seen peeps making ref to 1914, 1925, 1975 even 2020 if need be, The truth gets brighter and brighter. C.T Russel was a Catholic. It took time b4 him and his associates fully grasped the truth. Atleast everyone can bear witness that since then, Jw's preach dat no one knows when d end wld come. So all those making ref to those past dates shld ve a rethink. I tell u thou from experience, these JW pple r the only religion that try, for emphasis i repeat myself, that try to live by bible standards no matter how hard. Im not a member of JW but the poster is a big joker. I av JW members as relatives & i must confess; they are the best set of ppl u can think of on d surface of d earth. down to heart, humble, non violent & very very tolerant. They might have these biblical principles that seem unacceptable 2 other xtians but i tell u; far better than the so called conventional xtians.

I happen to be an active witness and I'm very proud to say that - it's realy a priviledge if you know what I'm talking about.

The beautiful thing is that JW's kingdom halls are always open for people that wish to come in and there is free exit at thesame time. The choice is yours. Remember, you are there to serve God and not human.

Participating in politics, whether by voting or being voted for, is a matter of choice. It is your right and no one forces you to exercise your rights, just as no one forces you to take water from the public tap. This is recognised by all liberal democratic constitutions. And it is also commonsensical -  you can't force me to participate in any form of association against my will. But this choice should be exercised freely at the individual level. So the only problem with the JW case is that a central authority has decreed that members should not participate in politics and so ALL members do not. That is wrong.
