You need to go to federal hospital (cost relative)

U will do the following
Bilirubin test
Phototherapy
Blood transfusion

Get unripe pawpaw,cut it in small pieces and soak inside water mixed with glucose overnight. Give the baby to drink early in the morning and night with a teaspoon. After that,expose the baby to sunlight for like 15 mins..works like magic...this was used to treat my nephew's jaundice

Early morning sun � is the main and best remedy, face the child towards the sun for 1hr everyday till it's over .
Hospital is a very bad idea except they have an elderly or experienced midwife around to tell them the truth.

I had a baby who was jaundiced at birth, he was admitted to NICU, 7 days phototherapy and all and we were discharged, the stuff didn't clear, instead his eyes were getting a greenish tint, his urine was like Yello dye, I drank unripe pawpaw ehn, gave him drops

Then at 6 weeks after no improvement on a Sunday evening I took him back to the MCC and there did a quick test and the stuff was high, they demanded for Liver function tests and all everything was going haywire within an instant and all told to come back the next working day, git the result that day, I saw the result and I was already crying saw the consultant and we were referred to Lasuth to see a gastroenterologist, the scan came out clean. They said it was prolonged jaundice -prolonged congugated Hyperbilirubinemia.

Got to Lasuth they asked practically a whole lot of questions ehn, and did all manner of tests again from HIv to Hep B to Scan to Torches, even urine for reducing substances, I was to collect urine in a bottle for a 6 week old baby Chai, every damn test came out clean they just couldn't find the cause we were just going every other Monday for appointment and then the consultant Dr S ( Very nice man) said let's watch what his body will do and God intervened it began to drop and his Yello nes of eyes reduced and finally one wonderful morning his eyes was pure white, urine clear it cleared at 5 months plus.

He's my miracle baby.



Point is it is better for them to take that child to the hospital. 3 weeks is just too long

Please go and seek professional health treatment before it turns to hepatitis, it happened to me from jaundice to hepatitis

At this stage, u need to run a test, if the level of the SB is 18 values and above, your child need blood transfusion and also need phototherapy to clear it, my child was just discharged from hospital here in Ibadan, his SB was 16 values and I was lucky after the treatment was applied it came down to 11 values within the 2days which is rear and now is 0.5 value. Sir u need to visit a children specialist hospital urgent

There are different causes of jaundice. There are also different levels of severity.
The cause and how serious it is will determine the kind of treatment. Most cases don't need serious treatment but the serious ones need the right treatment given very fast.
So how will they know if they don't rush to the hospital first?

In the name of Jehova Almighty, pls take the baby to another facility preferably where there's a pediatrics/neo-natal unit. This may not be a case for Panadol and folic acid doctors o. A lot of things can cause jaundice in babies, most commonly malaria during pregnancy. Pls go to a teaching hospital or FMC or any govt hospital if money is object. Pls kenicterus is no joke. That baby might need exchange blood transfusion and sunlight or UV therapy might not be enough. A thorough examination to ascertain cause of the jaundice may be necessary to help in tackling it. Jaundice is just a symptom of an underlying ailment. Cheers and Godspeed.

The Doctor

Please, jaundice is not something you should joke with as it will have a health issues on your child later if not properly taken care of. Go to the hospital, let them run a bilirubin test to check the level. If it's high, they will place the baby on phototherapy or even exchange blood transfusion if necessary.
I wonder the type of doctor that gave that advice without confirming the level of bilirubin in that baby.

God bless your kids bro. Care should be individualised. Let the doctors tell her the bilirubin level is good for home remedies.

Buy unripe pawpaw

Peel it off

Soak for 24- 48hrs

Use it to bath the baby and allow the water to dry on the baby's body

Add a single drop into his or her mouth


Remember to change the water after 2days

And soak another unripe pawpaw

Please go to another hospital preferably a government hospital. Nigerians don't understand the kind of risks they take when they go to just any roadside private hospital.

Take your baby to the hospital..let them place the baby under phototherapy light. The more you waste time, the more it get severe!

Get Unripe paw-paw, wash slice and boil including the back and drink the water. Your baby will take it from breast milk. Some even give the baby to drink directly. It works.

Go to the hospital, a teaching or government hospital. Don't keep that child and be giving concoctions that will damage the liver more. Go back to the hospital, not a clinic a hospital.
