The NYSC rules have not changed in that regard.

It does seem with a 2019 court ruling that NYSC is not compulsory NOW either. All this while the rules are the same but with this court judgment not doing NYSC does not stop you contesting .I think it is a shame but it is what it is

She was not forced ,she chose to. Her case was complicated by alleged forgery. That was the key issue not failure to serve. One of her recent predecessors Okonjo-Iweala does not list NYSC on her CV and would have been eligible in 1976 .

You are talking but not listening.Did you comprehend what you quoted. "providing" a degree is not an issue or the issue. You are correct the NYSC decree states it is compulsory but it does not make mention of "providing" whether you provide or do not provide if you go to university you must serve.That is what we have always known but in 2019 the courts said NO. You cannot be disqualified from election because you did not serve. That judgement was not at Supreme court level so potentially it can still be overturned but that is the status quo
