I keep saying it that this food inflation is deliberate. It's a planned work by the greedy people (wholesalers and retailers). Don't know why the government can't clamp down on these people.

A bottle of 60cl plastic coke is officially ₦150 from the manufacturer (NBC). despite the hike in diesel and forex. But retailers are selling for ₦200-220.

It's even more laughable with item like peak milk (full cream). Something that sells for ₦250 officially. Retailers are selling for ₦350.

If you go to big markets in Kano, suleja and Lagos. Wholesalers are deliberately creating artificial scarcity to make profit. For example I know one Hausa man that deals on sugar. He went and bought 6 trailers of sugar late last year and locked them up in his warehouses. Only for fuel scarcity to distrupt supplies early this year and he started selling those bags of sugar. And he was making a gain of 11k on each bag.

If we remove greed for the end of the manufacturer, wholesalers and retailers the inflation is not as bad as people are portraying it. After all we were all alive in this country when BUA came out and accused Dangote of deliberately increasing prices of items like sugar and cement
