EU is making a big mistake. Nigeria's gas won't be enough to meet their needs. Relaying on unsustainable sources is a pity. The best for them is to end the war and keep the norstream pipeline flowing.

Rubbish.

Which infrastructure?

It won't cause increase, rather it will lead to decrease.

Right now we import our gas. We don't have the infrastructure to extract our own natural gas.

If the EU invest in infrastructure to extract and refine the gas, we will produce locally and export the remain after we satisfied local consumption.

This is where we need good leaders not greedy politicians that'll prioritised exporting it over local use because of foreign exchange they make into their pockets
Lol. We are one of the exporters of crude oil in the world yet we keep getting shortages leading to skyrocketed prices of PMS. The only time we have low prices of PMS was during the covid break when our foreign trading partners halted trading for a while.
You concluded that this is when we need good leaders and sadly we have greedy politicians. As an economist I can tell you that our leaders are not ready for this and so expect more increase in prices of gas because foreign exchange in dollars is bae.

Most of Nigerias Gas deposits are around Imo, Abia Anambra and now Enugu. Is God not wonderful? Buhari is strategizing to use South Easternngas to buy over the west at thee expense of the same East! It won't fly.. Gas from Igbo land will NEVER be used to save Nigeria.
The EU delegation should go and discuss with real Igbo leaders and not with the federal Nigeria appointed proxies.

The utterly corrupt Nigerian government has misused trillions of dollars worth of Oil incomes for over half a century now. Oil is running out as the main demand in the international market and these guys want to pivot to gas to continue the maximum looting from where they stopped.
We will not agree..

Gas in Nigeria will flow freely when it's being used to improve the living standards of the real owners and not when it's being used to inflate the pockets of the fulani oligarchs and their agbadorian cousins..
They have already passed all sorts of Evil and dubious legislations to loot these resources. So folks must agitate to no end until the right thing is done..

What a pathetic & terrible thinking..
When it’s time for buying & selling, go lock all the reserves..

Selling gas to the most developed economies require alot of infrastructures to be in place.
Selling gas to Germany is different from selling gas to India. Sadly Nigeria with an annual budget of less than 40 billion dollars does not have these infrastructures ready.
And time is a luxury that the EU does not have.
U no chop ur school fees abeg

What is our problem as a group of people? We indulge ourselves in extreme begrudgery even up to our National Government. Some people are so envious of development or good news about their own country, this is not stupidity it is bewitchment of the highest order.

I wrote a snippet of how someone close to me benefited from the FG anchors borrower programme yesterday without connection or any external input that goes to show the opportunities are there but we have a large population of intellectually lazy people that want those opportunities to drop at their doorstep without any effort.

EU considering buying Gas from Nigeria intimates an abundance of opportunities for individuals that can pitch their tent around the mechanism that will ensure the transaction becomes a success...Let's forget about what big-time politicians will make from it and think about how we can position ourselves around the system, there is no easy money anywhere in the world, people align themselves with the right crowd and that's how it is done in those developed countries everyone wants to "Japa" to

We need to stop making ourselves look like fools to the global community because of hatred, tribalism or religion because many countries have it worse than us e.g Venezuela, but you hardly hear about how the country with the largest oil reserves couldn't provide for its citizens with the proceeds from oil and gas because their citizens have since channelled their energy into palm oil production in the last 7-8 years

Ipob don’t usually see anything good in Nigeria.

Should should should ? Why?

Countries do not get rich selling gas they get rich USING gas

Using gas is what creates jobs not selling it
What do those countries that buy gas do with it?
The question is why can't we do the same thing with it?

Gas is used in industries where energy is a high part of the expense profile
like
Glass manufacture
Fertilizer
Cement
steel
etc
Nigera spends billions importing glass annually and will continue to do so if we do not wise up
The message
Aim to use all our gas at home and if possible become an importer of gas . That is the road to riches.

You are making no point. We have the gas, and they are coming to buy. What is your problem?

He made a point. Naija will still mess it up.
By the way I hope u know we still have gas flaring since decades ago to deal with.

When crude oil prices went up did Nigeria gain? No!
Cos we don't want to repair or build new refineries. While other countries were making profits we were not.

I suspect the Fg may not be ready. Algeria proposed this to us some years ago. I wonder the progress the FG has made on the pipeline they promised to lay from Nigeria thru Niger to Algeria. If we've commenced that process itlll make things quicker.

But I don't trust someone like Buhari to preside over it. We need a more competent hand

Now imagine someone like Tinubu handling such new wealth.

That guy would be richer than dangote*10, while Nigerians will keep suffering and wondering where all the money is going to.

Imagine what someone like peter Obi could do with our gas wealth.

And most importantly we need someone of integrity.

Integrity is everything. That is what will make our wealth go round.

Nigeria should use this opportunity to deal ruthlessly with British imperialists ,who still think only of their interests and others as fools.

Tinubu is worth billions of Dollars just for being a governor of a state.

Along with atiku, they both own Private jets.

Atiku himself was a custom Officer that became a VP, and now own a private University and various companies.

Even a blind man can see that these two people will loot Nigeria blind.

And yet, some people that can barely feed will still vote for them.

Terrible.

Oyibo universities are swarming with large populations of Nigerian students.
Instead of paving way to utilize the gas in Nigeria,
rulers of Nigeria would rather sell the gas, get cash to send their children abroad to study and settle, buy mansions abroad and build big houses in Nigeria, buy the latest SUVs, marry or take underage girls to bed, a Buhari type will even seek to develop Niger Republic and northern Nigeria, but not the Nigeria delta region where the gas comes from.
