If your Visa is approved and you missed your admission, is it possible for you to enter Canada with another DLI? Please someone should please advise. Is it possible to change DLI after obtaining visa while still in Nigeria?

I didn't put any asset in my application and I was self sponsored. No land documents, not even car documents and I was approved in less than 20 days. I only put my business documents to justify the money in my account.
good one,did you pay your full tuition for the course?

No. If you do thar, your visa will be canceled. You can only defer your admission in that school and ensure you travel within the validity of the issued visa.

Thanks a lot for your reply
Trent is Durham Ontario fees is 22000 per year

While Canada west is in Vancouver British Columbia
The fee is 25000 per year

The difference is just little that’s why I’m more confused

$3,000 CAD can feed you for one year in Canada. So, make a good choice.

first you can visit the IRCC web page to read about the requirements for a study visa.
2. you have to have sufficient fund to cover your tuition and living expenses
3. there are certain things that will determine how many years' POF you will need to show. e.g, the year duration of your program, who is the
sponsor, other family commitments etc.
4. Its very technical, but read through this thread, you can educate urself better.
5. if i have more info about your situation, maybe i can give specific advice

Wait ooo. I was preparing for pof of 14m. Do I have to have the pof of the whole 4 years in my account before leaving?. Let's me assume the figure you used before which is 18k annual can't 14m serve as proof of funnd?

Secondly, the two years course you talk about, what certificate will they offer me? And is the two years course done in university or college.

Lastly if college will issue me diploma, don't you think they might deny me visa reason being going from (diploma) HND in Nigeria to another diploma again in Canada.

Sorry for stressing you with my questions .
Your POF is only decent for a one year program. Not sufficient for a 2 years programme, not to talk of 4 years... You might want to check latest exchange rate

NGN 14M is not enough for a one-year program if the tuition fee is more than $11,500.

Hardly will you find a Post Graduate program for less than or equal to $11,500.

Yes, definitely not enough for a One year program. I noticed he hasn't even added the $10,000 living expenses and $3,000 miscellaneous... God save him he hasn't applied yet.

Firstly, your 14m is not enough for a one-year program if the tuition fee is more than $11.5k; because as of now, the official CBN rate is $1/599.6-- that is, 1 Canadian Dollar is equal to around 600 Naira.

Why go for a diploma when you can go for a post graduate diploma or post graduate certificate? Note that diploma courses are usually 2 years. Your funds cannot even cater for a one-year year program not to talk of going for a two-year course. PGD/PGC usually take from 8 months or more.

You should note that HND is higher than Diploma, Associate Degree and Advance Diploma.

In Canada, HND is higher than Bachelor Degree because it is assessed to be equal to Post Graduate Certificate by WES.

Thanks for letting me know people with bsc can go for diploma as well

Really?. I was planning to show one year pof. And I think 18k is approximately 11m so why do you think 14 is not enough sir?. Please using 18k for instance. How much do you think will be okay for pof.
Thanks for all your swift response.
.
.
(18,000 + 10,000 + 4,000) × 600 = 19,200,000 Naira (For a One year program)
.
.
And for 2 years program and more, you definitely need to show you have a way of paying the remaining amount without working in Canada... MPower loan is your best bet for the Bsc program..

You might want to rephrase this coz I don't think there's any country ranking HND higher than Bsc...

That is what you think, but I am telling you what I know and am sure of.

Reasons and Proofs

1. HND is assessed to be equivalent to PostGrad. Cert. by WES Canada.

2. If PostGrad. Cert is higher than Bachelor Degree, then HND is higher than Bachelor Degree.

3. Recently, an HND holder got admission to a PhD-- Doctoral Degree-- program in a US university direct without having a Bachelor's or Master's Degree.

4. In Express Entry, HND gets 22 points, Bachelor Degree gets 20 points.

5. You should also note that Nigerian HND is higher than and different from the UK HND based on course load and credit units.

6. I can mention at least 10 UK universities accepting HND direct to master's degree programs. Also, I can mention at least 5 US universities accepting HND direct to master's degree programs.

7. You may want to ask for more evidence if the ones above are not satisfactory enough.

I want to understand you because you obviously don't know how this is calculated.
If you want to show pof for a year, you have to add annual tuition, living expenses of 10k and miscellaneous of 4k.
Now this your 18k barely covers 14k living expenses and miscellaneous. So is the 4k for tuition ot what?
I assumed the 18k is tuition alone, so your funds can't even cover for one year.

Look for schools within your budgets (colleges or University )and also that you have qualifications for. Look at things such as tuition deposit, tuition fees and all that and start gathering your required documents
Hello, I'm also new to Canada application, I am into UK programs.. my questions are:

1) Isn't it a huge task for students to pay Tuition fee balance when they get to Canada, since most schools have low or no tuition deposit.

2) Are the documents for admission application same with UK?
3) Arse SOps of two types I.e School and Visa?
4) how many years is the Visa issued on masters and post graduate diploma.
5) what are the common causes for Visa refusal?

I dont really want this to turn into an argument bro, just that The fact that you want to bring evidence to prove no 6 should let you know there's no iota of truth in putting Hnd above Bsc. And no 3 is a free pass for Bsc holder. Every Bsc holder I know on scholarship in US are on PHD...

HND can have higher point in Express Entry because OND+HND is considered 2 or more degree, but I tell you that most Canadian universities do not see it in same view...

And for the HND person you know admitted into PHD, go and check the person's quantity and quality of project Research and publication.....

Good day nairalanders. Please I need help

I recently got an admission for a one year program. My tuition is 16,000 cad. I plan on using 17M in my account as pof, and I intend to use my brother as a co-sponsor. But the problem is that my brother is self employed as an engineer. He does not have a register company or business, but he has landed properties. Please how do I proof his source of income?

Secondly, I am still trying to put my pof together, and I have till July 17th to make payment for acceptance fees, then second payment by august 3rd. Can I write to the school to give me 2 more weeks to make payment?

Your advise will really be appreciated

Thank you

Congratulations on your offer. You didn’t make mention of the school but some schools won’t give an extension but you can write them to be double sure.
There are many questions.
Is there an initial tuition deposit and a final tuition deposit?
How much is the tuition?
How much is the tuition deposit in total?
Yes your brother can be used as the sponsor (hoping you’re male and your brother has the same surname as you. If otherwise, get a letter of sponsorship)
Do not forget that your POF comprises of your remaining tuition fees after the deposit has been paid, plus your living expenses.
Good luck.

Sadly, yes.
You should show proof of funds for the entire stay.

As the other gentleman has said, you can simply go for a 2 years course, then get a 3 years post study work permit, and you’re good!
