A member representing Kano Municipal, Shaaban Sharada, has defected from All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Action Democratic Party, ADP.

Upon his defection, DAILY NIGERIAN exclusively gathered that the lawmaker joined the ADP and picked the governorship ticket of the party.

Credible sources at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC office in Kano said Mr Shaaban will fly ADP governorship flag alongside his running-mate, Rabiu Bako.

Mr Sharada, who is the chairman of House Committee on National Security and Intelligence, contested for the APC gubernatorial ticket but lost to the deputy governor of the state, Nasiru Gawuna.

The outspoken lawmaker was a member of G-7, a factional APC group once led by former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau.

Mr Sharada, a dogged political fighter, had braved a tough political huddle and internal opposition to win the APC Reps ticket in 2019 and later won at the general election with a wide margin.

Government transition always cine with disappointments which lead to defection of politicians. This started in 2007 and 2015 General Elections.
However, Shaaban Sharada's history is a clear message on how hasty and undetermined Nigerian youths are in politics. The guy was ardent social media propagandist of Buhari since his tenage years. He suddenly and very luckily got a rare appointment that we hardly used to see at top position as President's aide. In second tenure he was promoted with HoR seat and got elected but the deceptive slogan of not too young to rule made him contested for Kano state Governor during APC primary election and lost. He didn't really know the real dirtiness of politics and started crying after failing. He has so many rooms to grow but is so desperate to become Governor at his youthful age without reflecting on how many times his boss, Buhari contested and lost among many serial losers who lately succeeded in their aspirations. Sharada is a typical example of how politics can make poor, seemingly hopeless people rich within short time but the guy is making grave mistake.
