Just as how converting his salary from Naira to pounds does not make it bad or poor.

The OP may be considering leaving the country for a variety of reasons, but a poor salary shouldn't be one of them.

And what's a poor salary in your regard?

I always think threads like these are for cruise.

Because how can you be qualified enough to make over 600k a month and not be sane enough to make decisive decision on this type of issue?

OP is probably fake.

Mtcheeewww. I am forced to agree with you at this point. undecided

When you are not a student just starting out in life or na 20k you dey earn. If this is true, the guy is probably one top shot that controls things and perhaps manage people on a large scale and will have pass plenty cognitive tests ooo. Now coming here to be yapping...

Take this advice from me, and remember it came from me, you won't regret it. If you're finding it difficult in the UK later let me know.
But first I'd like to know some things about you.

What is your academic background that got you the 620k job?
Was your first degree in Nigeria or abroad?

Imagine if you add MSc from UK, and wish to return , will it not boost your office position with higher pay?

If you want to base in the UK, then the future of your children are secured in a working system.

As I said earlier, pursue the UK dream, even if you do minial jobs, you can easily make 1k pounds (more than 700k in naira)
valid point. But stop converting to Naira when you are working and living abroad. convert to naira only wen you are working abroad and living in Nigeria.

Bros go to the UK. There are too many opportunities abroad. I have a federal job here in 9ja paying me about 100k+ but my online hustle as an IT guy rakes in about 7 times that. That means every month I make UpTo 800k.

But I am still planning to relocate to canada, because I am sure I can make 4 times that over there. Bro, don't let small money limit you o

A poor salary is relative, my dear but someone who earns 20-30x more than the minimum wage in a typical developing country cannot be described as poor.

if you area of specialisation is in ICT then go for your msc in the uk, improve your skill set and you would get better offers afterwards

If your work experience and qualification falls among the UK occupation shortage list then the likelihood of getting a job after the msc is high. Do Your Own Research

But if it isn't any of the two above, guy take the new job in nigeria save more and plan your future.

People earning around that figure or more will tell you that it's not really a big deal in the long run, looking at the present situation in Nigeria. Life is not all about how much you earn, it cuts across so many things. Trust me when you start earning it, your problems will rise to meet that new level, if you are not prudent now, you still won't with the new pay. If your intentions are for resettlement in the long run, then take the Master's risk, if you are planning to go just for studies and return, then stick with your present job and do online Master's.
Remember, both options have their pains and adventure, list them and settle for the one you can live with no matter the outcome.

Well, it's not about the salary he's earning now. I mean, people earn higher salaries. And with the inflation going bonkers by the day, and with one's standard of living, that money is likely to be next to nothing in a few years to come. Not everybody believes in the mantra of "No place like Nigeria".

Most likely, after his studies, he will fare better.

Remember your MSc in UK is not important to them. The need your school fee to service their social economy. They expect you to come back and use your MSc to gain advantage in Nigeria if any. Except your reason for going is to escape Buhari here and get a menial job and settle in UK.

Op, read this multiple times

Fed tax is approx 30% on all income in UK rent/mortgage. Utility bills is 1000% of cost in Nigeria...... Get a good plug and credit in nigeria and you are better than 80% of migrants

.

You are talking out of your ass. Nigerian migrants are homeowners and have 24/7 electricity, clean water, good school and security.

But if you are earning N640k per month on Nigeria I will stay in Nigeria and do a distance learning msc.

Let me use myself as a case study . I earn more than 650k but I will tell you. I still wanna japa very soon.

My fellow IT guys that left never regret leaving Nigeria .

What is 650k in a country with insecurity, no basic amenities.

My advice is to japa, most especially if your course is lucrative

Never rely on experience of others when about to take sensitive decisions. Some people just make it up for it to look rosy.

I read lot of messages from people here stating that op will make x 10 of NGN 620k. I smile and shake my heads. Some even went further by converting GBP 1000 to naira without factoring cost of living in the UK. Will op be earning in pounds and coming to Nigeria to rent houses and pay for bills?

People that have not boarded a plane before, talkless of experiencing life in the UK have turned consultants on Nairaland. Always understand the quality of people offering an advice before you latch to it.
My 2 cents.

You're probably referring to Linea Nigra in your second description. Linea alba is that fascia at the midline of the abdomen. Anatomy sweet small.

Even for a lucrative career, you are in competition with the best from other part of the world. Not to talk of racism.

I always enjoy reading this type of posts. You'll see a guy still struggling with WAEC giving advice.

It's even funny when they say you can make thousands of pounds doing menial jobs. How naive. If you make money, how about expenses?

As for the OP, if and when you need serious advice, you'll do your research properly. You wouldn't get sensible advice here.

You just made my day. So apt

You have a point doh, but people make way more than that to cover for the cost of rent. People earn up to 4000 to 5000 pounds a month in the UK. 5000 x 12 is 60,000 pounds. That's a lot of money, remove rent and other expenses, a lot of money is still left. Much more than I'll make even with my 800k naira in a year here

What percentage of people make 5000GBP per month in the UK?. Some people just write thoughtlessly.

I'm done with this thread.

Bro,

I currently earn about 340k every month here In Nigeria, which is way lower than your 650k. Was planning to japa to UK as well but after serious thoughts and researching, decided to stay for a year or two more, acquire some certifications so I can get higher pay like yours while trying Canada PR.

The UK isn’t really all rosy as YouTube videos make it seem. Why do you think almost every Nigerian student in the UK have YouTube channels?? All to make more money cos things ain’t so rosy there.

Bro, you are earning well here in Naija esp if you are still single and young. You’d live a good life here at least until a Canadian Express PR works out.

Only thing that could discourage you from the PR Is if you are well over 30. I’m in my mid twenties, na why I dey focus on Canada PR.

Best of luck in your decision. Remember, money dey naija wella. Trust me on this. You’d make more money in Nigeria than in the abroad, and you’d make it faster.
