Freebills12: Abeg you people are insincere and delusional. Regionalism, a system of governance we have used in the past, is very different to outright secession our constitution outlaws. This is why Awolowo moved to have a secession clause inserted in our constitution that would make it easy and legal for regions disgruntled with our union to secede. He was frustrated by Azikiwe who colluded with the North to officially scuttle Awolowo's effort. It is you people still suffering for the sins, greed and myopia of your father till today while Yorubas continue to show their smartness and law-abiding credentials by pursuing regional governance that is virtually same as secession in all but name. |

Freebills12: Keep blaming Yorubas for everything. Nothing would have stopped the North from contesting the 2023 election because they are very afraid of power in the hands of a strong, resolute and independent-minded Southerner after Buhari's reign. Like Wike or Tinubu for example. You guys are so lame at politics even the biggest handwriting on the wall you cannot read. Only you Igbos, with your petty trading and hawkwr mentality, are too simpleton-like to not understand that the next president of Nigeria may be her last under the current system of governance as we know it. Buhari has shown everyone, whether North or South, the need to decentralized power because it can be fatally dangerous in the hands of a biased and partisan ultimate umpire with his/her own agenda. Nigeria will be decentralized and developments such as State policing are only a question of time. The real contest is about gaining power to control the pace of things. The North would want a much slower pace whereas a Southerner may be very aggressive moving for changes because of the ground the south felt it has lost, especially security-wise, under Buhari. For example, State policing may be near instant under a southerner but may take a long time to arrive under a Northerner who will definitely stall till the regions powerborkwrs feel ready if at all they ever will be. In different times Northerners may have graciously stayed away from contestinf. Not this time where, in their eyes, there is a lot at stake for the North that is existential in Nature. Work on doing research, staying current and improving your intellect so you just don't rush to the silly Igbo default position of blaming Yorubas for everything. North are desperate for power and they would in fact had preferred Tinubu did not run so they they can defeat any other Southerner so things remain business as usual when they retain the power to control the direction of Nigeria and her specific security architecture and socio-economic direction. |
