Still a lot of room for improvement 1.Yes, it seems tarrifs are more cost reflective...but since government is still controlling the price, not yet uhuru. Also, there is still the issue of price uptake. 2.Transmission needs fixing...especially as we can generate up to 13000 MW but only send out 5000 MW. 3.Can't rule out the rainy season effect here. On the whole...some improvement, but a lot of work. And the sector HAS to be allowed to run like a company, not like a free distributor of power. 1 Like |

Quintopia: Well, he hasn't. He basically forced the DISCOS to run at tarrifs that won't sustain them, and even now, there is still some form of price control. SIEMENS deal good, yes, and yes COVID messed a lot of things up...but more could have been done...like letting DISCOS control prices from June 2015, AND ENFORCING metering and tarrif collection. |

OriOko88: Udom Emmanuel has also built some power stations. By the way, why would a state governor build a power station when you will end up feeding it into the so-called national grid? At the end of the day, those who don't know the amount and efforts that went into the project will be enjoying it. If Buhari is a serious leader, everything about power should have been removed from the exclusive list. 1 Like |
