This issue in Itire Ikate LCDA can be solved by just clearing and fixing all the drainages. It’s not natural disaster, but leadership disaster. The chairman there is very useless.

Wonders of Ijesha flood. That area and flooding is like 5 & 6. It used to be fair until early 2000s. This was when the swamp across the express was still serving as flood collection bayou.
Then people came and started building big houses, companies and churches on that reserved swamp area.
Consequently, the water from Ijesha wouldn’t go anywhere after heavy rains. It remains there. The result is what is being witnessed now.

Before you blame the state and local government, please go and check the state of the drainages. Dirty residents will pour dirts and all manner of plastic wastes into the drainages and expect water to flow freely during heavy downpour.

The government should take bold steps in punishing those that litter and throw dirts in drains. People will always go against the rules; the job of the government is to enforce and punish offenders. The government does nothing in punishing offenders.
