So at 202 Billion for a roughly 100km dual carriageway (ie 2x100),1km would cost a whopping N1billion. Not entirely a new road but maintenance and rehabilitation. Terrible guys.

For infrastructure tax credit scheme, to allow the private sector to invest tax liabilities in advance in infrastructure is a wonderful step.

MTN won't build the road. They'll finance it's construction and get tax rebates and concessions from the FG.

That's how Dangote financed the Apapa-Oshodi road and others. It's a good scheme that's essentially a public and private sector partnership to fund the delivery of critical infrastructure.
You have time to be explaining things to these empty brains.

Wailers will always wail. No matter what you do to better their miserable life. The wailing after next year's election would be unprecedented.

Read it again before you crictised again and again.

Meanwhile, let me educate you if u reread and still not understand.

MTN will construct the road with their own money. (The tax they supposed to pay in future, not tax that has been incurred o).

MTN will now give the contract to construction company to do.

Federal government will now supervise it and make sure it worth the amount in TAX they gave it for MTN.

(This type of policy is the best for country that corrupt like Nigeria, .......if MTN pay money in future, what give u assurance it won't end in private pockets?

If it's federal government that wants to award it directly, bottleneck and bribery, down the line, will reduce quality of the project far more than, if its MTN that do it directly.

3. Where is the money currently for govt to award it itself, conserdering financial mess we found ourselves and yet people are suffering on secondly basis on the road.)

They are the Contractors and financiers [based on tax credit given to them]. The road would be done by any construction firm they engage, but the work would finally be supervised by them and federal ministry of works.

Nothing is terrible here .

check your calculation well , the 2-lanes is 200km and how much you think construction materials are cost per tonnage .

I thought that road was being used by APC agents here to shut down the south easterners who were complaining that the government has neglected the road. They said the road was almost completed. Why is it not included in the second Niger bridge for propaganda purposes? Don't those in that region pay their tax?
Election Don reach, they suddenly remember the road.

That Enugu-Onitsha express road has been a death trap for so many years. It's quite unfortunate that PDP couldn't reward South East's loyalty with that road during their administration.

Senator Ekweremadu, the famous UK organ harvester, also couldn't use his position as DSP to press the PDP government to do the road for his people. He was only after his selfish interest, and how to induce and exploit a poor boy in UK for his overfed daughter.

All the federal roads in South East are in deplorable condition. Onitsha-Owerri is currently a nightmare for commuters, especially whenever it rains.

Your thoughts are smelling!

After 7 plus years of APC and you dare mention PDP?

Well, Nigerians now know that both parties are cancerous to the growth of Nigeria and they'll be retired in 2023.

The first phase of the road is being done . At least from onitsha to Awka one lane is functioning well I passed through there recently.
During PDP era motorists ply the old road Using Abagana axis. But from Amansea to Enugu the road is still bad . I believe that’s where MTN will start from . There’s little progress from APC In terms of infrastructure compared to PDP .

MTN is not the construction company that will do the road. They are only financial facilitator for the project

Lol. Sometimes Frustrating but one hopes some Nigerians can still learn so they are useful to their societies.

Nigerian would be far better if, as nation, we had better informed followers who make themselves aware of what leaders are doing.

I doubt many Nigerians know their Senator let alone be aware of the job he/she is supposed to be doing on their behalf.

When you really look at it most kids these days don't know their leaders and representatives at the local, state and national levels but ask them about BBnaija season 1 house mates. Social media is a curse.
