i said similar thing on twitter few days ago. Some celebs parades themselves as demi god, like human with 2 heads just because brands endorsement and media publication aided them verification. If they can't pay let them leave it for some of us that can. *winks

The problem is scammers that will start impersonating celebrities

Normally sites like this get their money through ads and data mining. But elon ilona musk wants to be even more greedy and make Twitter users pay for his bad deal. Any bad intent persons can buy 10 of those verifications for a year, and use them for malicious reasons.
