I am talking in general. Forget the blue tick nonesense, people will not pay $8 a month for some blue tick, he needs revenue, but he is not going about it the right way. Rather, I am referring to the other shortsighted moves he has made since the takeover. Fine, it's his company and he can hire and fire as he pleases, but there is a way to do it without scaring your cash cows. Twitter makes 89% of it's revenue through advertising and when you fire critical sections of your workforce eg. People who are responsible for ensuring information from your platform is true, non discriminatory and non racist. You remove the human face from the platform. Those things are important to advertisers. No brand worth it's salt will want to associate with a platform that spews bigotry and disinformation. Ask Kanye West how sweet the breakfast he is currently eating is. Advertisers are already dropping Twitter, that's why he is complaining. The West is not Africa where you publicly treat people like shit because you are wealthy and get away with it.
