Allisgud:Oshobaba ambition or not, it was obvious that Obaseki was not only just a tyrant but a failure. But in blind effort to pepper Oshobaba we decided to go go for obaseki. Now everybody is suffering it. It’s same mistake we are making with Peter Obi, that notwithstanding that his mediocre performance as governor some of us are still drumming for him 2 Likes |

NOETHNICITY: I've come to realize that any candidate you see too much noise around him, no be am. That's why I don't like noise. The ovation of Buhari was louder than this in 2014 but what did we get at the end? Nepotism, incompetence, hardship, etc so since, and with the experience of the children of Isreal in the Bible, then I've learned not to follow noise. 1 Like |

Nigerians like doing the wrong things. When corrected, they go on protest. Look at the prices of goods and services in the country for instance. Most people do things arbitrarily. Oshiomole did same thing and the benefits to the state are clear. |

Sleekfingers: Mandate2023: No one deceived us into our choice of voting. What we hate passionately is for one individual to try to make himself a political deity. If we were to allow that, at least the priviledge would have been given to Ogbemudia and not this current crop of undeserving politicians. There is a reason the Benis resisted the white folks despite the obvious consequences. Oshiomhole was massively supported against the likes of Igbins, Annenih, etc. His choice of successor was equally supported despite doing nothing in his second tenure. He enjoyed a free hand during his government. He can't be a godfather to Obaseki just because he helped him into power. That was the singular act that influenced our voting, else he would be tempted to continue to decide who gets what in Edo political space even as a none majority in the state. Secondly, he made several remarks against Ize-iyamu only for him to think we should throw that all out because of his interest, he would have picked another candidate instead. Even the Ize-iyamu would have had a better chance of winning if he had remained in PDP because we vote individuals over parties. The same measure will be used against Obaseki when he is done. So your Lagos can be whatever, after all there are several federal institutions, yet the income generated is still far from the developmental reality on ground. So leave our Edo for us. |

frankmoney:Very serious emotional manipulation. Even supposedly enlightened people with university degrees fell for the cheap emotional message of anti-godfatherism fight by a product of godfatherism. Anyway, that wasn't actually the first time emotional manipulation was successfully used in Edo State. Gabriel Igbinedion had already used it in 2003 when he admitted his son was a failure but should be allowed to repeat the class, and of a truth Edo people voted for him again and then his second term ended up a total disaster. Edo State people especially, and Nigerians in general have very short memory hence ever hardly learn lessons from experience. Else how on earth does a product of godfatherism claim to be fighting godfatherism and such will appeal to an intelligent person? How can a person whose first term failure was so glaring claim that the he couldn't do much in his first term because Oshiomhole whose own first term was a huge success was asking to share state's resources and supposedly educated persons believed him? Now they are crying demolition and homelessness in the hands of the same man they claimed just two years ago was a messiah. The most ironical aspect of the whole emotional manipulation was that lecturers of AAU, the supposed leading lights of the state violated their civil service anonymity principle and came out campaigning for Obaseki purportedly against Oshiomhole's alleged godfarherism and also gave Obaseki an award of excellence even though Obaseki had already reduced the state's subvention to AAU from the over N200m Naira Oshiomhole was giving them to a paltry N40m. It was indeed a moment of total ceasure of the cerebrum in Edo State. Now the reality is around. People must learn to live with the consequences of their choices......Mrs. Hilary Clinton. 2 Likes |

Deadlytruth:How can a sane government just demolished 1000 houses in a community without taking his people into consideration? Did the owner of those houses have proper approval from government? If so, let them seek redress in the court of law. |
