Literally bar none.

I was reading this thread here talking about the Igbo age grade system and how it has been used to develop Igbo lands for centuries.

https://biafraspot.com/threads/igbo-age-grade-system-an-ancient-tool-for-development.121/

Anybody who has travelled across Nigeria knows it to be a fact that Igbo rural areas are the best in Nigeria, but it is fascinating tracing back to ancient customs and political ideals to understand why that is.

Because Igbos rejected a monarchical structure, this vested power in the community itself. Along with power came a strong sense of responsibility for the common igbo when it came to political affairs.

Instead of relying on the goodwill of an elusive higher power to build their environment, they simply gathered themselves and their collective resources together and got things done.

As a result there is no section of Nigeria that can boast of the standard of living that rural Igboland has today.

In the past Colonialists often remarked on how clean, well-planned and picturesque igbo villages were, it's no surprise this mentality had carried over to the modern age.

It's also no surprise that Igbos are fiercely proud of their villages, (There are multiple threads on Nairaland showcasing the nooks and crannies of various villages across Igboland) and endeavour to go there at least annually no matter where they are.

Igbo land was known as the land of Satan and cannibalism.

Widespread indiscriminate slave raiding , human sacrifices and cannibalism where the hallmark so much so that it was dubbed the land of Satan.

In my local community in Imo State, we have age grades that every young man must belong to. After your Iwa Akwa, you can now identify with your age grade and the community recognises us.

Currently, we are contributing to build a cottage hospital in my local community. Our mothers have done so well too with their August meeting in developing my village.

In fact, we also contribute to building churches in my village, regardless of where you are based in the world. Today, we don't even depend on the government for social amenities because successive Imo governors have been some of the worst in the country.

There are tonnes of historical accounts of Igbo land being a lawless dark enclave .

You will not be allowed to whitewash your cannibal Hobbesian heritage just as you lied about Jewish ancestry.

Jerseyboy, kindly help us post that European anthropology map of Nigeria depicting areas of cannibalism

Re: Igbo Villages Are The Best In Nigeria by KwaraRat: 11:24am On Dec 02, 2022
The colonial anthropologist map depicting areas of cannibalism in Nigeria are coincident with the five current Igbo states of the SE.

Even the igboid speaking people of the Niger Delta never practiced cannibalism.

Asaba which is just a canoe ride across the Niger river from Onitsha did not practice cannibalism. So also the Igboid people of Rivers.

So why is this an exclusive Igbo culinary habit to feast on human flesh?

In the following posts I will be highlighting how an acute famine brought about by incessant communal warring between Igbo peoples , slave raiding by Igbo slave raiding groups like Arochukwu cult on fellow Igbos saw to a total breakdown on civility , law and order that made even farming an upheaval task .

It should be noted that such anthropological drawn maps were critical to early colonialists as it offered them where to avoid or to be vigilant at all times for cannibal hunters.

So many European missionaries and colonial administrators were killed and eaten in Igboland that at one point the British hangmen were hanging the natives for eating their agents sent to civilise the Igbo.

During the civil war, the acute famine brought about by the blockade was easily substituted with cannibalism as there were still igbos alive during the war who had been active cannibals before British intervention .

So rest assured that if war is to break out in Nigeria know where and whom to avoid .

We have the best villages in the whole of Africa! No cap...
Don't argue about that..., Just show us examples of better places..
That is not a boastful comment. That is a statement of fact.
Visit Anambra and Imo States and have peace in your life.. Enugu and Ebony can do better but they're quickly catching up..

I am super proud of the achievements of my people in this area. It's stunning!
Villages like Awka Etiti, Neni, Adazi them, Urualla , Akokwa, Mbaise, Nnewi , Abiriba them are so lavishly populated with the type of stunning mansions that you won't see in any such villages across the continent.

Even when compared with the villages I have seen in Asia, our hometowns are in another level! It is a thing of pride really..
The culture of building stunning edifices in the villages should be encouraged. It helps provide modern living standards to the old ones left in the villages.

What we need to do going forward is to have a government cordinated master plan to bring the much needed basic infastructures and amenities such power lines, transportation systems, landlines, tarred roads and water pipes to these villages. That is the quickest way to take them to world class standards

Igbo cannibals still walk amongst us.

From those who survived the civil war famine by dining on human flesh remains, to active cannibals like the Ngwa people of Abia state who have come to see cannibalism as part of their culture.

When in Abia be very careful of hotels you stay in or you end up as someone's dinner.

IPOB Afro voodoo Zionist cult terrorists are known to eat their victims in a ritual cannibal to fortify themselves .

This is a throw back to ancient Igbo head hunters who ate their victims to gain their powers.

So ant rubbish here being posted about Igbo land being one fairy tale peaceful and harmonious region before the advent of the white man should be discarded as pure trash.

These are a people who had a standby supply of human sacrifice victims in the form of the OSU caste.

Human sacrifice was so rampant that they needed a steady standby supply to be offered to their heathen gods hence the OSU caste was created

Solodu made mention of how heathen voodoo practices was driving the cycle of violence committed by the Afro Zionist terrorist group who relied on human sacrifices to fortify themselves.

Same Solodu will later bemoan the rising conversion from Christianity to heathen Igbo voodoo practices which he said is the fastest growing religion in Igbo land and blamed materialism as the reason for such conversions.

So please, ignore the lies from the OSU cretins Jere who want to tell you that Igbo land was a Cinderella fairytale land when in actual sense it was a blood soaked barbaric region.

There was no monarchy because you had not evolved to be able to setup one and sustain it.

What you had wasn't akin to the Great Greek city states but a lawless land ruled or rather terrorised by the Arochukwu voodoo cults just as you have now Afro Zionist voodoo IPOB in place.

This is your sad, pathetic and tragic heritage or rather, lack of one.

How can you demean monarchies as a sign of servitude all because your inbred okoro ancestors could not phantom one ?

The great empires of antiquity and in the past century all had monarchies .

Are they retrogressive and backward for having a monarchy ?

Is the Holy Roman German Hungarian Empire that built cities like Vienna and co lower than your slave colony ?

Your continued castigation of monarchial systems is like a Gorrilla boasting to a human that it is better because it never and will never pay income tax.

But in as much as you castigate monarchies, it is same you Igbo cretins that have a profileration of fake monarchies in that your slave region with a monarch in every 5 kilometer square .

Even your useless nollywoid can not do without fantasizing about fake Igbo monarchies.

It begs to then ask why a people who are quick to boast with not having kings are the ones now creating useless kings allover their enclaves and producing equally useless films celebrating it?

It was igbos like Azikiwe that begged Gowon to liberate you from Ojukwu's tyranny and bring you back to Nigeria.

The original plan was to stop after liberating the annexed Niger Delta but many an Igbo like today got disillusioned with Biafra after the Niger Delta was liberated.

Whose in completion with the OSU ?

This low self esteem is why you keep dragging with others when nobody is even looking your side.

The useless OSU of an OP started his thread with : " Igbos have the best villages" meaning he was comparing Igbo village with others as if there was any competition with you..

It is an attempt to elevate yourselves as better than others and as such a continuation of Igbo supremascist mentality which can only be birthed from a lowly slave mentality.

Now that's the fcking problem I have and not if you built a mansion for lizards to inhabit in your cursed village .

Very true.

Across heebo land only state capitals will you find banks .

Maybe only Nnewi , Onitsha and Nnsuka that are not capitals can boast of common bank branch.

You know the reason why this is the case and so I won't elaborate .

You’re pathetically insecure and need to go see a shrink ASAP!

The OP was talking of the political, democratic and developmental structures in place in Igboland pre and even post independence that helped drive development in the region! He mentioned the age-grade system, that still exists till today, and the fact that even foreign visitors to Igbo villages of the time commented on how neat and orderly they were! Pray, what has all this got to do with ‘cannibalism’ and a Hobbesian state of nature!? Did any of the colonial travellers of the time who visited Alaigbo write in their memoirs that they managed to escape by the whiskers, chasing ‘red-eyed Igbo cannibals’ with an acquired taste for oyibo flesh!? If not, then why do you keep banging on about cannibals and Hobbes!? Was your own ethnicity the epitome of civilisation, saintliness and good moral conduct during the colonial era? If so, can we have their name so we can use una to brag to the Europeans that there was actually a settlement in colonial West Africa that was way ahead of them in civilisation so they need to go sit their haughty, superior feeling ass down and STFU!
