Na you make garri ordinary
God1000:
Nigeria is completely messed up under this buhari led APC government. Ordinary Garri is expensive

So many families will not celebrate this Christmas because of economic hardship, how do you expect the right thinking nigerians to vote for the same party that has impoverished them.

Enough of suffering and smiling.

Nigerians are facing existential crisis now, some have committed suicide under this government

This is crime against humanity.

Christmas, a time of the year when Nigerians eat food.
But you've been eating food since January. So, what are you celebrating now?
Eating food again?

I don't get it at all.

It's really funny but that's Nigerians for you..they attach so much importance to trivial things

Op, you are very blessed this holiday season. You will celebrate well along with your family and close friends while others (some in this thread) go unblessed. wink

What is trivial to you is not trivial to others. How is it "Trivial" Do you even know the meaning of the word? So only Nigerians celebrate Christmas? There is nothing "Nigerian" about this

A person decides to celebrate a birthday, wedding graduation, Thanksgiving , Diwali, Osun, or whatever that is what makes human being different from cows grazing in a field
Some people may think they do not like celebrating birthdays. Nothing wrong with that. but does not make it "TRIVIAL"
If you are joyless does not mean everyone should be. We are not automatons
Human being like to celebrate , have parties and make a noise if you do not get it just be silent and stop being toxic

NOT just Nigeria.
Humans everywhere do that and have done for centuries.
They take a break from their hustle come together, dress up nice, eat dance sing etc

We listen to music every day but still play music to celebrate
We wear clothes everyday but still dress up nicely to celebrate things that are special to us

Oga or madam teacher, my post was a direct response to what the previous person said..so I'll like you to go back and read thoroughly and understand cos if you did, you won't be writing this long epistle.

'Trivial' there was referring to the way we attach importance to food this period as if its not the same food we've been eating all through the years.

You are the one that lacks understanding and empathy

You mentioned Nigerians

As if it is only Nigerians that emphasize food at this time
Just do a quick Google search to see how much Americans spend on food at this time and how much they throw away. So it is not a Nigerian thing. many countries experience food price inflation at Christmas time. That is just HUMAN BEINGS for you
Maybe you need to try and understand PEOPLE better

Secondly food is important to celebration
Everyone has food in their homes (presumably) and they have music too
but we sometime invite them play music cook food and call it a Party
That is the NATURE of festivity. It is not TRIVIAL to THEM though it is to YOU obviously
YOU cannot get it and YOU won't.

That is foolish talk. If you are a thinker with a functional brain you won't say that.
That is what YOU want to believe for your ego

It has no objective basis

I did not abuse you . If you have a fragile ego that is your problem

But do not stupidly make assumptions about who is your coeval. You simply have no way of knowing that and very likely are wrong

I pity those who are hell bent on running this country to the ground.

As a medical personnel the health system is running aground. Many consultants have vowed to leave the country if the wrong candidate wins.

Recently many teaching hospitals have been calling for doctors to come and take up jobs but no one is even available.

I have seen many people die of resolvable issues because there was no specialist within that vicinity to proper help.

Keep supporting the wrong candidates when you know the right thing to do.

You know Peter Obi is the best chance we have at redeeming the country.

Soon when someone has an ordinary stroke, there wouldn't be even an experienced hand to solve it. You think it is about being paid. Very soon no good doctor will be on ground to help you even if you have all the money.

I rest my case
