Drama as pastor ruins wedding by sacking the bridesmaids, chasing guests (Video)

A Kenyan pastor is facing backlash for ruining an elaborate wedding after he chased away the bridesmaids for non-compliant dressing.

A relative of the couple, Damaris Obiero, took to Facebook to lament that the elaborate wedding of his sister was ruined by a pastor of a Seventh Day Adventist Church when he chased away the bridesmaids and some other guests on the day of the wedding.

He complained about the general conduct of the pastor, accusing him of being unduly strict and intransigent.

He uploaded a video of the pastor aggressively telling off the guests and telling the couple to take their wedding elsewhere if they insisted on the bridesmaids entering the church.

The pastor identified as Jare Omwoyo can be heard telling the guests to go away from the church premises.

Obiero uploaded pictures of the bridesmaid and queried what could be wrong with their dressing, as all parts of their bodies were covered.

He also insisted that the bridesmaids were members of the Adventist church contrary to the claim by the pastor that they were not members.

Obiero conceded that the bridesmaids wore earrings and necklaces but insisted that those were not a reason for the pastor to treat them the way he did.

Damaris Obiero blasted the cleric saying he messed up her sister’s wedding with his bizarre rules that ruined the mood of the event.

Angry Damaris wrote on his Facebook wall:

“This pastor messed up my sister’s wedding! He said everyone who is not SDA shouldn’t march in the wedding. They didn’t match (march). The words that were coming out of his mouth gave the reason for people’s reactions”

The church has since apologized for the incident.
