Acidosis:

Some of you will just sit in Lagos and be typing nonsense about Nigeria.

Don't mind them... Very annoying people.

They never travel, they don't research, just do TikTok from morning till night!

They are also part of the literacy issues in this nation.

So the "fool" in America who sits on his computer and type fake stats to get more funding but U didn't mention that the funding he gets is still channelled back into the country by way of Unesco funded projects. So if anyone is making fake stats up it is Nigeria politicians who in turn loot the funds. I've seen UNESCO branded books, school bags and other educational materials being sold in the market

Sadly, this is what they sell to the world, the campaign to demonize Africa has been on for centuries, the same tell the world, children in Africa are dying of hunger, these are the only thing they propagate about Africa, hence why some of these whites always think Africa is a dying, hungry, sick, primordial, and uneducated. When some hear FARICA, the only thing they can think of are ANIMALS.

These are what they teach them in their schools, some even think Africa is 1 country. Except for YouTube and little enlightenment on social media that's gradually changing the narrative. 75% of the funds gotten by UN affiliates never get to the intended people. My late father worked with Unicef specifically for 28 years and retired in 2008. The only place they ever concentrate their campaign is in the far North, rural areas, he did a lot of traveling in those years. However, until I left Naija, I still do think they meant well for Africa, but not anymore.

This fool don't even know the number of out of school children in Nigeria.

Simple sentence you can't even read.

Are you saying that African leaders don't mean well for Africa or that Unicef don't mean well for Africa?

How can your father work for unicef for 2 decades and you're ignorant like this?

Unicef release money for Nigerian children, nigerian leaders hijack and concentrate it in a region because of nepotism, is it the fault of unicef or nigerian leaders?

...And how well have African leaders and citizens done to change the narrative?!!

How much have we done for ourselves in terms of industrialization, exportation, business developments, educational development, security, etc?!!

Your federal universities are barely out of a strike that lasted almost a year! Out of school kids still abound even in Southern Nigeria!

Poverty has grown ridiculously in the last 6 years! Unemployment is a gist for another time, day, and thread!

It's not enough to be constantly hyper defensive against stereotyping of this continent... More efforts should be channeled into ensuring that Africans and Africa actually grow! Like really grow!

We need to spend more time looking inwards than outwards!

It seems only Northern Africa is getting this memo! No wonder they prefer to align with the Arab world!

While we don't know how they arrived at 75%, don't forget Nigeria already has about 15 million out of school children.

For the ones in school, many are not doing well; some don't have Maths teachers; some have teachers that don't even know what they are teaching.

All these are contributing factors.

We may not totally agree with 75%, but we don't think they are too far from the truth.

This is indeed very sad.

I'm not sure if the figure is up to 75% . Sadly I don't havr statistics too.

We do not prioritise education in this country so what do we expect

It's even higher than 75%. Many secondary school students cannot read and solve maths, particularly in the north. There are university graduates that cannot speak or write English properly and cannot solve basic maths problem.

Yet the UK is salivating over Nigerian teachers. This statistics is absolute falsehood at least using my kindred as example 100% of children between ages of 5 to 10 can read very well and solve simple Math.

Your 75% should be urban literacy level

Dude!!! First off, not up to half the kids in northern Nigeria are literate. Add the illiterate kids from other regions. Ps how did you arrive at 75% literacy?

I’m patriotic but truth be told, the child illiteracy level in the north is super high.
u fucking hypocrite
