Billionaire Sayyu Dantata Launches $450m Lubricant Plant In Lagos by Flathead8: 8:03am On Jan 25, 2023
Sayyu Dantata, billionaire cousin of Africa’s Richest person Aliko Dangote, has launched a $450 million lubricant plant in Lagos through Bestaf Lubricant Limited.

Dantata is the founder and Chairman of MRS Holdings Company Limited. The group’s operations span several West African countries, including the Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire.

The 200 million-liter lubricant plant is the first of its kind in West Africa and covers the entire value chain of lubricants.

Dantata stated that the plant will not only generate foreign exchange for the country through product exports but also meet the needs of neighboring countries.

The lubricant plant has the capacity to produce 1,700 different products and will play a key role in Nigeria’s economy by boosting youth employment, generating revenue, and reducing the country’s import dependence.

The lubricant plant, located at the Bestaf facility, was inaugurated by Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday evening, in the presence of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other dignitaries.

Sanwo-Olu described the facility as an integrated first-class factory and highlighted the president’s excitement that the country’s captains of industry had continued to rise above all odds, despite the global pandemic challenge.

The Managing Director of Bestaf Trading Company, Andreas Wielsch, stated that with the lubricant plant, the company would be able to produce about 50 percent of Nigeria’s annual lubricant consumption of about 364 million liters.

He added that the launch of the new facility will drive the production of 200 million liters of lubricant per year, which is more than enough to cover 50 percent of the country’s annual consumption.

The launch of the lubricant plant by Sayyu Dantata is a significant step towards the growth and development of the Nigerian economy and a positive indication of the potential for more such investments in the future.

It is a clear indication that, despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, Nigerian businessmen and captains of industries are determined to continue investing in and developing the country’s economy.

Later the children of hate will still not happy with this News because their State is nothing to write about. Instead of them to channel their aggression to their governor to deliver dividend of democracy and development to them. Let their State to attract investors not looking for investors. Kudos to Sayyu Dantata. Another feather to his cap.

With Tinubu at the wheels…
and Dangote, Adenuga, Dantata, BUA, Otedola captaining the oil economy…

And the millions of innovative, intelligent and patriotic Nigerian youths and farmers developing the non-oil sector of the economy…

I can say the future of Nigeria is bright 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

It seems the next age of indigenous industrial growth in Lagos will be powered by Kano billionaires.
This is a far departure from what was obtainable in the past with Abiola,Doyin , Eleganza etc pioneers of manufacturing in Ikeja, it will be fun to watch the changing demographics

You would wonder why Asari Dokubo, Tompolo and the remaining “awa oyel” gang didn’t invest their billions in similar ventures since the raw material is in their backyard and they’re already bunkering it….instead preferring violence, pipeline security and building universities in Benin Republic.

This is a clanish mentality.

Investors create wealth for the local economy that improves the livelihood of the locals when carefully harnessed.

Dubai continues to attract investment from all around the world, so does Singapore and many others.

It's the same thing Lagos is doing.

Most of those people have factories in Ibadan too e.g Expand global ventures that makes a good deal of the detergent you use in Lagos, Afriplast the plastic company. etc.

There's a huge difference between Estate development and industrial development.

Although, a good number of them have factories in Lagos/Ogun state industrial block.

Can you stay in Banana Island? Now imagine land becomes so expensive that you as an indigene cannot afford it, you'll go to your village. There are indigene now that have zero say in Lagos and it'd continue to widen

I dey laugh you. When you guys are ready for division, we will align with the North. Nobody will go anywhere. The only condition to free Yoruba is that they must forfeit Lagos because it belongs equally to all Nigerians

Banana island is an artificial island, hence the cost of land in the Area.

There are many places indigenous people stay around Eti osa and Ibeju lekki which are their original villages.

Nothing like that Oga. It's pure political patronage enabled business. Cheap dollars are made available to the Fulani business man as well as other federal assistance. Just wait till Peter obi does 8 good Years as president of Nigeria almost every other Ibo business man will have 2 refineries in all states Of The federation. Have you ever seen a Fulani or Hausa man do serious business? It's always selling currency, food or petrol etc. They don't know calculation that is why

People originally from Lagos are less than 5% just like the indigenous people of Canada. Lagos now belongs to all Nigerians equally. Just like California, Lagos will get so expensive,
indigenes will be forced to stay on outskirts

Don't you think the Hausa/Fulanis are taking over the industrial/economic power of Nigeria in general. Yorubas who have the power are now slacking; they abstain from taking risk of venturing into large industrial shaping economy establishments like the Hausa/Fulanis such as Dangote, Bua, Mangal, Dantata, Indimi are doing today. The future will tell.

No amount of industrialization will remove Yoruba from Lagos, it just won't happen.
