Confused federal government, the banks are rejecting old naira notes since Friday evening and your supreme Court wants people to continue to spend it?

Do we have 2 different economies inside the same Nigeria.
Pls stop misleading people and transmitting false information, banks are not rejecting old notes.

Please, for your own good don't hold old naira notes. If you must hold, hold an amount that you can finish spending quickly. Politicians are fighting each other. Do not be caught in the crossfire.
Make use of POS, bank transfers, USSD.

It will be very painful if the CBN suddenly declares that the deadline has passedd and you are holding 10k, 20k, 30k etc. Forget supreme court play it safe! If eventually, the cbn extends the deadline, you are safe. if the cbn eventually says the deadline has passed and all old notes are no more legal tender, you are safe.

DO NOT HOLD OLD NAIRA NOTES!
Ganduje, El-Rufai, Tinubu, Supreme court etc will not reimburse you if kasala burst!

Play it safe!

the supreme Court is just causing confusion. THE CBN is the primary institution responsible for determining money policies in a country, so the interference from politicians is unhealthy. October 2022-Feb 10, 2023 is enough time to deposit old currencies.

This is the worst that can happen in governance; for government to put masses in suspension because of unwillingness to obey court order. What stopped Buari from announcing after his 7days request that old Naira notes should continue till supreme court case is completed. Very sad, Buari disappointed many of us

All my transactions today were in old notes. Nobody is even asking any question. If the masses agree to the use of it, we'll make it a legal tender by ourselves. We'll be using it amongst ourselves. Emiefele should go to hell.

the country is learning well from its leaders by disregarding valid court orders.

Meanwhile some places are still receiving and collecting old notes.

Nigerian media/press should stop hustling for stories and become patriotic, especially nairaland that has adult moderators with teenage brains

Old currency is widely accepted overhere

Govt create hardship for you,u are creating another hardship for yourself.

No single statement from a genuine source made by the FG or supreme court that the old currency has seized to be legal tender

I share the same opinion with you.

what is so difficult in announcing to the people whether we should continue with old notes since new notes are scarce?

Just imagine an old man without sense that we voted to rule us?

Unless you are going to bank in your mattress, then you can't do this. People are still accepting it now because they have not yet gone to the bank. Wait till Monday morning and people are unable to deposit the old notes and watch the mass rejection of the notes.
