He was not found wanting. His title was changed from Baale to Asiwaju. He must obviously be very friendly and loyal to the Oba. Please can you tell us the use of the Baale title to the average Igbo living in Lagos?

Part of Chinedu's 100 days in office,

He said Babaloja and Iyaloja would no longer be appointment of local Kings, but market people selecting themselves

Now this is an insult to any Yoruba Monarch

So Oba of Lagos would no longer coronate his own Iyaloja and Babaloja chiefs under markets in his own territory

.

That is an insult because by Yoruba Custom every Market belongs to the King

every Yoruba Market is ruled by a Babaloja or Iyaloja

This is a Centuries old Institution

The Yorubas once fought a 7 year Civil war sparked off by a shortage of one pepper

in a bowl of pepper bought at Apomu Market in Osun State

It was called the pepper war and it directly led to the owu war

The war ended with Victory for the Ife,Ijebu,Oyo alliance

after they destroyed the 700 year old Kingdom of owu

The Babaloja and Iyaloja are in the Market to resolve all market disputes and to

make sure that that never happens again

and the Market itself is belongs to the Oba of the Town

Whatever it means it doesn't address the issue I raised. How can withdrawing the Baale title from a loyal friend of the Oba affect the average Igbo man in Lagos? The earlier you guys realise that there are Yorubas living comfortably in the South East, the better for you. Igbos who reside in Lagos are not your slaves and will NEVER be one.

This people's obsession with Igbos needs to be studied. Everytime Igbo this, Igbo that? Was it only Igbos that voted against APC in Lagos? There was never love lost, really. This election just brought it to the fore.

Igbos should really reconsider their stay there.

Traders should chose their own leaders
That's the norm allover the world
Imposing someone on traders is not democratic.
What Job does Babaloja and iyaloja does outside taxing innocent traders?
Some one that's not even a trader.

HONESTFACT101:
When Igbo people overwhelmingly
voted for President Obasanjo, a
Yoruba man, problem no dey o.
Before then, Igbo people supported
Obasanjo against Alex Ekwueme in
the primaries, nobody complain.
We gave President Yar'Adua, a
Northerner, majority votes in the
south east even against our own
Ojukwu who was on the ballot,
problem no dey o.
President Goodluck Jonathan wasn't
an Igbo man, he wasn't from the east,
Igbo votes for him in the East were
undeniable.
Last elections, Atiku, a Northerner,
swept the votes in the South east,
even the SS votes weren't that
decisive.
After all those years of ignoring their
own tribesmen on the ballot, even the
legendary Odumegwu Ojukwu, Igbo
people finally saw Peter Obi and
checked him out and said "ha, this
one is good enough"
That's when suddenly they are being
accused of tribalism. Suddenly it is
now "those people have agenda".
But when we were ignoring our own
back to back agenda no dey, shey?
Lmao. This tribalism and bigotry
blackmail no go work.
We die hia! OBEDIENT to the end!

Shut your trap. Obasanjo is Igbo and not Yoruba. You deliberately voted for him as your half-brother against Yoruba's choice, Falai.

For the fact that igbos overwhelmingly voted for Obasanjo (one of their greatest tormentors and conqueror during biafra war) as against Olu Falae (a complete gentleman and highly rated and respectable Economist) is an evidence of deeply seated hatred and bitterness ndigbos have for the Yorubas. You voted Obj because he wasn't Yoruba candidate and you didn't vote for Olu Falae just because he was the Yoruba's candidate.

Continue to underestimate the Igbo man at your own peril
flokii:

The baale title in Yorubaland is strictly reserved for indigenes and they (baales) are the first point of call for disputes or conflict resolution before the matter gets to the higher hierarchy which is Obas.. So the question here is how did an Igbo man get baale title on Yoruba soil?

Obasanjo has never be on the side of yoruba , check 1979 second Republic election. .
Also Obasanjo has never been a candidate of yoruba. Olu Falae was yoruba candidate. Pls get the record straight.
