You shouldn't work abroad and be converting the money to the naira equivalent
Your bills abroad are not paid in naira.
Always remember this

Is a room self-contained 50k ( naira ) a year there? Ode! You can only compare it this way if you're living in Nigeria and work in UK ( remotely)

I have bren silent on this issue but I think it's very unfair for the young doctors to leave the system that subsidized education for them to Europe and Arab countries because of money.. It's either they stay for at least 5years and give back to Nigeria or government cancels the subsidy on educating doctors in Nigeria outrightly.
You people keep saying subsidised eduction, have you compared the infrastructures available to students studying abroad to what we have here?

Some public schools in Nigeria aren't worthy to be used as zoos abroad.

Majority of those hypocrites supporting Tinubu are on this thread and planning to japa!

They knew Nigeria is very sick and deserves a qualified doctor to cure her, but the thick scale of sentiments covering their eyes won't let them see clearly and reason like rational human beings cry

Rent

Your body go tell you if you are not doing a professional job that has a certain salary cap.

This is what most people who rushed the care job visa for UK didn't consider.

They converted £20,500 p/a to naira and got blindly excited and jumped without making informed plans.

After the euphoria of landing, reality sets in and so many regrets and stories start jumping out.

Sit down and plan o....all that glitters isn't gold.
I do not know anybody doing care job in the UK that's complaining of poor salary. The average salary in UK is £36k p.a. with a salary of £2k per month(net) u are very comfortable. If you a family man and not living in London or probably Essex, u can get a 2 bed room for £600 include bills might get it to £800. Basically a family whose children do not need to go to daycare is 100 times better than a manager in a bank or even in an oil company. If both parents earn £4k monthly(net) they can save £1k5 per month multiply that by exchange u realise they are saving what most big men earn at their places of work in naija. The best advice will be to let guys coming via school to UK that they should be prepared to do care job(wash oyigbo yash, clean their shít, bathe them etc) that way they are well prepared. But abroad is 100 times bera than naija for the now.

In an article published on March, 30 2023 by eurostat, an official website of the European Union, the average hourly costs of labour in EU (European Union) countries in 2022 were reviewed. Bulgaria, with the lowest cost of labour per hour stood at 8 euros while Luxembourg with the highest stood at 51 euros.

Let's use the lowest European paying country for this analysis which is Bulgaria. If you work 40 hours per week in Bulagaria, (which shouldn't be lesser as a healthy person without disabilities) that is:

8 euros x 40 hours = NGN163,598 (8 euros = NGN4, 089.95)

Multiply that 40 hours by 4 which is four weeks in a month, that should be:

NGN163,598 x 4 = NGN654,392

This means that a Nigerian working in the poorest country among the EU countries can boast of a salary over 500k in a month converted to Nigerian Naira. Should we still make analysis on the highest EU paying country, Luxembourg? With this here, I don't think that will be necessary.

It is really a loss of human dignity to offer labour that will not change your living standard.

Would the Nigerian earning that amount of money be sleeping under the bridge? What of feeding? Will he be trekking to work every day? What of cost of Internet data subscription, water and energy rates? Eventually, you may not even be able to save 250k out of it each month. If you now own a car, you pay more.

But if you're in Nigeria and earning up to that 500k as your take home after taxes, you're far better off cos you spend less and save more. Anyone who earns up to this amount here but still wants to japa may soon regret it. Japa with sense

Lol you still don't get it that you are prey in naija. Is untill fulani herdsmen cut your throat you will realise? As long as you are in naija you are the worst fùcking prey there is(amongst other preys). Your politicians, pastors, police, army & terrorist are predators the rest of you are low level prey like chicken or earthworm.

For those saying that the money will not be spent in naira, understand that if you earn in euros or dollar and can be able to save only 10% of your earnings, that makes you a big boy when you repatriate it home and change it.

A good friend of mine who is a senior lab scientist in an FMC here with four children finds things very difficult. The upholstery in his sitting room have all torn up and everything looks bad. He managed to migrate to Europe late 2021. As I'm talking to you now, he has spent almost 40 million naira on his building project, something he would never save all his career live in Nigeria.

95% of workers in Nigeria will never see N5 million naira in their account all their lives unless you do CHUACHUA
I tell you , How many civil servant after 35 years of service can boast of 5million in their account as savings ? The children you toll all your life for self finish school come the same with you the hope for better days or the run POS business for person.

The problem is that no-one is fighting, so you cannot call yourself strong. Can you protest bad governance, insecurity or police brutality in Nigeria? Venezuela is currently in a crisis with their present govt because the govt removed fuel subsidy which increased astronomically the prices of foods. Can you do that in Nigeria? Do you even have a say? OK pls tell me what you fighting for or fought for, just mention 1. Plssss.
Tinubus govt will not only remove subsidy, but float the naira so that they can continue borrowing from IMF. Since you are a warrior, be prepared because naija SOL will definitely fall ti the worst in the coming months

Nigeria is still one of the cheapest place to live if you have money or stable income. Ask what Europeans or Americans pay for electricity per month. Average cost is about $200, in a year that's 2,400 or over 1.6 million Naira. Water and sewage that one na at least $100 per month or 1200 per year( over 800k Naira). TV and internet, at least $200 or 2400( over 1.6 million Naira) per year.

Food nkor? Omo na die o, at least $600 per month or $7200( Over 5 million Naira) per year for average family.

Now here comes the fatality, house insurance, car insurance, health insurance. Taxation, cell phone bills and fuel/transport money. Oh wait, did your car break down? Your child got sick? You wan go family vacation? Broda send money, papa is sick in the village! Your wife is pregnant or you just had a baby, even the job you dey do sef they are thinking of layoffs........WAHALA WAHALA grin grin grin

Respectfully speaking, this analysis is watery to say the least. Converting what you're paid in Euro to Naira when you don't live in Nigeria or make your expenses in Naira is as useless as the k in knife. The person earning over €1,280 a month over there is very poor and can hardly afford half of what someone earning 500k in Nigeria can afford. Do you know the cost of rent, electricity, water, heating, internet, phone bills, groceries, transport, etc. in the country? Did you forget all these expenses will also be in Euro? Did you forget tax which takes a good deal of the income? Y'all really think those that live abroad wouldn't have been Naira billionaires if it was all about currency conversion? Lmao...
