My people say that if u don't know where u are going to, u will know where u are coming from.

My Nigerians aren't visionary people when it comes to helping solve Naija's problems, seems they appear to be visionary if they have something to gain ( in kind or in cash).. I wonder the cost of destroying old Naira notes and printing new notes?.... No how that someone will manage CBN and retire poor, but biko pity the poor masses. Though the scarcity of raw cash has reduced the incidence of kidnapping: Nigeria's peculiar situation sometimes calls for out of the box thinking to bring solutions....I'm not even sure we are even printing our own money ourselves with all our oil money( international passport, same thing): We should try and get somethings right( basically). E be like say we are taking God's blessings( oil) on our country for granted and not planning ahead..... That is where a Nigerian with akagum hand would have been better: a street wise economist

I support that guy in the redomination of our currency instead of trying to 'help' save cost of printing and go the way of higher denomination per note. We can scrap all polymer type of notes and make all paper if it costs a bit more/ more but still retain our N10,20,50.... Higher denominations devalue money, coins make u spend more for less and also devalues money because if someone gives u N100 note or 100cfa coin, u know the one to keep safely in your bag than rushing to buy sweets with it.

A gain with redenomination is on exchange rate with other currencies even if it is only a perceptionary one.

All the control and limitation of Naira has not made things cheaper or favored our exchange rate

Nigeria has the strongest economy in Africa, it will be a shame us to have N2000, N5000 and N10,000 notes.

The problem with ghana was that their economy could not maintain the revaluation peg, slowly it went from $1=1GHC to $1=5GHC... same goes for India.

When you revalue you must force citizens to make lifestyle changes and reduce importation, improve effiency of tax collection, reduce fossil fuel dependency, regulate the informal sector and with technology alot can be achieved.

it is long overdue to have N2000 and N5000 notes, you cannot stop it, with the freefall of the naira against dollar.....

brother you are a spectator in the affairs of this country, know this and know peace

So you deny that redenomination or demonitization will not offer a soft landing and atleast a few more years to change and get things right? You deny this?

Emefiele never intended changing currency. That explains why the new notes were not printed together currency demand.

All his plan was to punish Tinubu while unintelligent ipob terrorists cheered him up. It could be recalled that Atiku, pandora Obituary and ipob terrorists were all hailing Buhari and Emefiele at the peak of currency scarcity.

But immediately after election when the scarcity was still biting despite punishing Tinubu, same ipob terrorists quickly turned around to start blaming Tinubu who was to be punished. Their reason being that it was APC policy. I kept wondering if Buhari and Apc were in Labour party when they came up with the policy while the unintelligent ipob terrorists cheer them up.

Demonitisation is the way to go.
Declare the old and new N1000, N500 notes as illegal.

Revalue by removing one zero so that
N1000 becomes equivalent to N100
N500 = N50
N200= N20
N100=N10
N50= N5
N20=N2
N10= N1
N5= 50 kobo

Any outside this will lead to economic suicide, hyperinflation.

demonitisation is not the way to go bro.....that will lead to super hyper inflation. study Ghana demonitisation and check if their currency improves after removing zeros from their cedis after a decade. bro it all back fire.

Japan has not thought of demonitisation of currency till this day but they take advantage of their international trade to improve their currency. Nigeria has the biggest GDP than ghana so why should we demonitize our Naira?

Ghana redenominated bybremoving z3ros but they didnt change their way of life. Nigeria has a strong informal sector that can weather the strongest of storms.

The CBN is planning of removing the NEW NAIRA NOTE from circulation by continuing with our old ones.

That is a strategy for those that are hoarding the notes, think twice.

How will Cbn achieve that when citizens are not depositing both new and old note back to the bank. Only withdrawal

inflation or hyperinflation is not reduced by removing one or two zeros from a currency, it's far more complex...

brother no deceive yourself, things are good right now, in a year or two naira will exchange for over N1,000 per $1...... I remember the last few years when 1$ was N150 , people were shouting that the country is gone, but here we are today,

This is utter garbage. First, 20k weekly withdrawal limit is utter nonsense. How far will that get you in Nigeria? Return to the glorious day. If it ain't broke, don't fix.

The truth is simple: the CBN simply isn't supplying enough new notes into the system. If it did, trust me, the banks would be dishing out the new notes. The banks simply dish out what they have.

The withdrawal limit needs to go back to the past. Higher denomination notes are needed like the N2,000 and N5,000 notes

There is no effective monitoring of distribution of the new notes .
