We condemn the reported rearrest of social media activist Mr Nnamdi Chude. He was arrested in March under the unlawful provisions of section 24 of the Cybercrime Act. The Buhari administration must immediately and unconditionally release him.

SERAP Condemns Reported Rearrest Of Labour Party Supporter, Chude Accused Of Planning To Overthrow Government

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has condemned the reported rearrest of a social media influencer, Mr Nnamdi Chude.

Nnamdi, a supporter of the Labour Party and Peter Obi who was arrested by the police in Anambra State during the March 18, governorship and State Assembly elections, had said he was accused of “calling out” the police and planning to stage a protest to overthrow the government.

SaharaReporters had reported that Nnamdi was arrested over alleged cyberstalking on Saturday, March 18, 2023, by the police in Anambra State. He regained his freedom about five days later.

His arrest elicited criticisms on social media with some Twitter users alleging that he was apprehended over a petition written by Chukwuma Soludo, the Anambra State governor.

He was transferred to Abuja and subsequently detained for days.

This country has constitution and regulations that's set to guide our daily activities. If you can't live by the rules then u should accept whatever comes ur way. Inec Rec commissioner is already facing his own and he will be prosecuted in the right way. Chude should also brace up to face the result of his carelessness.
This is a note of warning for those calling for interim government to be careful or else if they are caught, they will serve the right punishment. Nigeria is bigger than anyone.

It is a media revolution, version 2 of END SARS now fought on the social media spaces. There are no more youths camped at a the tollgate to gun down. Their "voices" can no longer be infiltrated like they send touts among the youths' physical gatherings to infiltrate them and wreck violence so as to label them a mob.

The only book Azikiwe wrote was his autobiography, the 145-page "My Odyssey" about which he made so much noise. A turncoat he was! After authoring Biafra's "National" anthem, he ran back to the federal side in 1969 when it's obvious that his people were going to lose the war with ignominy.
