The Most Powerful Prayer A Christian Could Ever Pray

"Father, may your Will be done and not my own" Luke 22:42

This is the most powerful prayer anyone could ever pray.

If you claim to be a Christian but have never sincerely and from your heart prayed this prayer, it means your Christianity is still at a shallow level and yet a long way from becoming Christlike.

This is the example Christ set for His followers during the most trying and troubling time in His life and ministry on Earth.

It was so troubling for Him, He even asked God if it be His Will to take the cup away from Him, yet He said to the Father, "not my Will but yours be done". Luke 22:42

Therefore, if He who was the One and Only begotten Son of God, who hence didn't deserve to go through such sufferings, would humble Himself to that point before the Father, how much more those of us who deserve to suffer such things?

If we claim to be His followers, we must also prove it by following His example and His Word, by denying themselves, taking up our crosses to follow Him, just He denied Himself, took up His cross and followed His Father regardless of where He led Him.

Matthew 16:24 (KJV)

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

That's when we truly become His followers, by doing likewise, denying ourselves and saying sincerely from our hearts just as the Master had done, "Father, may your Will be done, and not my own".

That the most powerful prayer we could ever pray as followers of Christ.

God bless.

That contains several prayer points, including "Your Will be done..." , so it actually tallies with the post. Matthew 6:10

Not trying to hold brief for the OP in this or anything, but why would God want that? What God says He wants instead is for men to obey HIs teachings and commandments. That has been His mandate from even Adam, and it remains the same mandate to this day. For you to think that God wants you to raise your hand in praise when He previously explained that all your offerings — your praises, works, prayers, offerings, etc., — are made filthy by your sins and hence an abomination to Him means you probably need to do some stepping up where God is concerned. God wants only one thing from you and that is your trust and obedience to His Law. undecided

What is the prerequisite to Enter heaven, is not to give your life to Christ

When you give your life to Christ it means you have given your Glory to Christ

Is your life not your Glory?

■ What is the prerequisite to Enter heaven, is not to give your life to Christ

■ Is your life not your Glory?
1. To enter into Heaven, First you have to be born-again, next you must become Holy, and lastly you must become Righteous. All 3 steps are required if Heaven is indeed the end goal. That is why Jesus Christ urged each one of His followers -- those previously born-again--- to seek first the Kingdom of God(Holiness) and then God's righteousness, in order that all these things--- the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God --- shall be added onto each. And the one and only way to achieving it all is by way of self-discipline and self-control,committing to living one's life in continuous submission and obedience of the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ --- a life of faith --- until the very end. undecided

2. Not necessarily as it all depends on the true meaning before the phrase "give your life to Jesus Christ". So, you are aware, all those bound for Eternal damnation at the end are equally born-again. undecided

3. My life is not my glory, as I do not know what that even means or why I need some sort of Glory. undecided

When you pray for God's will to be done, how do you know when what is done is God's will ?
When is God's will not done, because whatever is done will still be seen as god's will and if whatever is done is God's will, why do you pray ?

You see, Scripture states that God does not answer the prayers of the unrighteous; the pleas and requests and every petition, praise, offering, work, plea, sacrifice, etc., of the unrighteous are tainted by their sins(disobedience/unholiness) and are hence an abomination to God. So, what is definite is that even your many pleas for the forgiveness of sins are not answered by God given that God made no special exemptions for that kind of plea. No amount of praying can cause God to change His mind regarding that which concerns the unrighteous by the way. So if you are thinking of prescribing more prayers that only means you really don't understand or know God at all. undecided

God, however, openly bragged about how He only answers the prayers of the righteous; He delights in granting them the desires of their heart meaning that they are those who are loved by Him. For this very reason, Jesus Christ urged His followers to seek first the Kingdom of God and God's Righteousness in order that all things— the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(holiness), answers to prayers included—shall be added on to them. And as Jesus Christ explained in His Gospel, the only way to become Holy, and then also Righteous, is by way of continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, god's Truth and Law in the Kingdom of god - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23. Jesus Christ is the only way. Obedience to the Truth of God is the one and only path to righteousness. No amount of praying and other religious rituals can accomplish that. undecided

God deals indirectly with the unrighteous, the same way He deals with the unbelievers including the wicked and the ungrateful and that is by pouring out His mercy and kindness on them daily. So every time as an unrighteous you feel that God has answered your prayer know that at that same moment, or moments before that, God also provided the same mercy or similar to someone else across the world — or maybe just across from you— who does not even believe in God, nor asked God for anything. So, if answers from God are what you seek, then do what Jesus Christ said you should, which is to seek first the Kingdom of God(holiness), and then God's righteousness, in order that all these things —the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(including answers to prayers) can be added to you. undecided

1. The Will of God refers to His Law/Covenant/Constitution. Your unrighteous prayers will avail nothing. However, it is the Will of God that those who seek Him obey His commandments regardless. undecided

As for when the Will of God will be done, it will be done in your life when the Truth of God is revealed to you and you seek first the Kingdom of God(holiness), ans God's righteousness.. undecided

2. Whatever is done is only seen as God's Will by the religious and ignorant. For instance the abominations offered by the unrighteous to God aren't of God's Will since they are instead born of unholiness. Definitely, unholiness is not of God's Will and Law. undecided

The unrighteous are to pray in obedience to God's Law as that the mandate that God has given to all those who seek Him. undecided

This can only come from a place of complete brokeness. It's not easy. The will of God can actually prevent you from being rich, from enjoying all the good things of life. Can you take that? Can you humble yourself enough to toe that path?
