You didn't lose money, young lad. You invested into the company

Majority of people infact 90% would ask you to report, resign etc. But think of it as deducaations from your few months salary.

Endure the loss.

It's hard to get new work. Hold on to your work. Be more careful. Play your cards. More opportunities for growth would come.

You can't ha dle the war that comes with making him an enemy. Even your life isn't safe.

It's a seed. Not a loss
Be patient.

But then, why will you come to a company with that large sum...70k.
The company might think you sale their product unauthorized and enrich yourself with the money.

Keep silent about it, or better still report about the missing money and let it fly.

Thanks a lot. My fear is losing the job. To get Work is hard these days
See, listen to that fellow that says you invested in the company. Look at my example, I had 65 pounds in my wallet, change from my last travel. It has been there for months. 2 weeks ago, I needed urgent soft cash, I sad let me change the money, to my surprise, 40 pounds had been stolen. The only person that enters my house to chean once in a while this young ogoja fellow.
I looked at accusing him, searching his room, forcing him to get his bank statement etc. On the other hand, I considered I had no physical evidence only circumstantial.
What i decided was to make use of him well to my benefit. Let him work more than 10 times the value of that money.

If you have concrete evidence against your supervisor. I will obliged you to see the manager/GM with the evidence so as he/she helps you to collect your hard earned money from your supervisor expect you too used Peter to robbed Paul then you can let it go.
Re: My Senior Colleague Stole My Money In The Office by Megabig: 1:44pm On May 22, 2023
You don’t have an evidence, they can’t believe you if you don’t have a clear picture of him stealing it(CCTV), Just let it go and be more careful. They are closer if they speak same language and you don’t .

It’s dangerous to get yourself into an argument with them, you could be roped in something deadly and you will be gone. Be very very careful

I know what I’m telling you.

That language barrier is the real issue if you report it might bounce back cos these people always support their own!

You can man up and talk to him about the incident in a respectful manner. Cook up something the money was meant for and if he doesn't give a damn just let it slide. Be more vigilant next time.

Why do you have 70k lying around for someone to steal. You can’t accuse someone unless you caught them via cctv or the like.

I have just three advises to give you.

1. Make an official report that your funds was stolen from you. Provide the timing and the amount but do not state you suspect ur supervisor. If you do state you suspect him, and at the end of the day there is no evidence against. He will either set u up or get u sacked

2. Look for palm front, red dress to tie. Rub the native chalk on ur face. Then go to him when u know only u both are alone. Just make some kind funny noise like incantations. Make sure there is no CCTV camera.

Lol. He will not only give u themoney but with extra.

3. Behave like u didn't loose funds. Keep smiling. The thief will come again. Set trap. You will have a serious case if u catch him red handed not just mere suspicions.

I was sacked from my work cos of dis type of issue.the guy is d one that stole ur money cos only 2 of u stay in that office.truth is he doesn't want u to be there any more cos u r more talented than him.once u acuse him u r fired trust me.so u have to accept ur loss and move on or speak to him that u have loss money without a using him.dont let him know u inform someone else.but truth is ur money is gone for ever.

bro Northerners support themselves even if they're wrong.
That's the reason even in abuja, one "drugged up" okada guy will jam your car and the whole aboki will gang up against once they discover you don't understand the hausa.

Reporting a Northerner to another Northerner especially when you don't have evidence is nit a cool idea.

Except you just want to report a case of missing money without pointing accusing fingers.

you see how foolish you're

If they all speak hausa, my brother respect yourself. Infact to even tell this to some other person at your work place. Please be careful those people can do and undo.

Let the money go. But how did he come across the money in the first instance?
Re: My Senior Colleague Stole My Money In The Office by AgroDoctor: 1:57pm On May 22, 2023
My advice is that you should let go and keep the job you have for now. Your senior colleague might be happy he had his way now but don't worry. Someday he will meet his Waterloo. For now focus on the experience you can gain from the company and do your job as if nothing happened while you keep applying for jobs elsewhere. And don't keep any valuable in your office henceforth. If they pay you cash at your workplace, run to the nearest pos operator and deposit it into your account.

Ps

I advice you setup your LinkedIn account and make it standard. Once you apply for a job, LinkedIn will start sending you at least email containing similar job openings weekly based on your preference. I do get loads of emails weekly in the agro food industry where I specialize in.

Good luck

I stay in kano born and brought up

My advice to is
Leave everything to God
May God give you times what he stole
If you report him now
It might backfire on you

And your job is at stake
So allow with God

That it's only both of you in the office is not enough evidence that he stole your phone. You or someone must have seen him committing the offence or the device is currently in his possession. Anything other than this is mere speculation.

Do you have an evidence to back your claim? If you do , you can report him.
Without an evidence, it is mere allegation . And might get you in trouble.

Report the theft. Back it up with Circumstances surrounding the loss but don't name anyone as a suspect. Let your Organization deal with it.

Accusing someone wrongly has dire implications.
