Hope you know buhari didn't make provisions for subsidy in the budget, TINUBU did the right thing to let Nigerians know what is on ground immediately. It's like an ambush to new administration

I’m not a fan on Tinubu, but I’m forced to believe this removal of fuel subsidy is only to favor Dangote and those who will benefit from it. Dangote was never going to operate his refinery with subsidy, otherwise he would go broke.
That said, if you’re among those who voted PBAT, don’t feel guilty he imposed subsidy removal, feel guilty because he did so to favor a single individual.

So let's assume we all start cycling, how do we power our homes? Most of the petrol consumption goes towards powering small generating sets for electricity. I switched from Generator and NEPA to Solar, NEPA, Generator and my petrol consumption crashed. BUT it cost an unbelievable amount to install solar. Let's not talk about the battery costs which will forever remain high. I agree that subsidy needs to go, but not before they fix the issue that drives high petrol demand, absence of electricity. And as has been proven by the last regime, which suggestes that a serious government would fix power issues in 6 months, the issue of power outages is intractable. NO NIGERIAN administration can solve that issue. It's not me being negative about my country. It's a fact of life. Powerful forces profit from power outages and petrol subsidy. And they will do anything to ensure that we have a deficit in both
Knowing how foolish the average Nigerian is, these “powerful forces” will fund another Occupy Nigeria protest. SMH. We never learn despite going to school.

Nigerians are problem of ourselves.

They said subsidy wasn't included in 20203 budget that means it had been removed by Buhari but not announced because of this.

It is time we have to look after ourselves. The community in which each feeling stations are located should do something by make them selling the Petro in normal price. Those that are selling it now had already bought the Petro they are selling in high price in low price and they just ant to used the advantage to make illegal money. If community should visited them and asked them to how them the receipt of the price they bought the products and Also tell them here the Government said he had increase the fuel price and the amount it was increased to.

We are evil in this country and it is time we sho it to evil people that they are evil if not they would continue sabotage the effort of government and make things worst for the people of the country

Ok let’s use your logic.
You own a fuel station and buy 10k liters at a subsidized rate of #200 per liter (2,000,000)hoping to sell at 220-240 (2,200,000-2,400,000 total revenue).
The problem with u as the manager now is that the new president had removed subsidy meaning it could be sold above #300 from your next purchase.
Now check: your previous predicted revenue generated is 2.4mil max, and the present predicted cost price is 3mil min…
As someone who at least studied basic economics in secondary school, do you sell at the same 240 u were selling before, or try to meet up with the current cost price?

This is a well thought out take. This is why there's supposed to be a sort of insurance policy for these abrupt shocks in the sector. Because, the situation you just described might be the case for stations that are about to restock. They have no one to pass the deficit to, so they would have to pay from their own pocket. Nigerians are made to suffer for executive recklessness all the time. Although, I don't know if there was a better time to scrap it.

The president that mentioned subsidy removal without putting things in place to cushion the aftermath of his careless statement never knew this would be the outcome and will increase the current economic hardship?

And will they be wrong to? Life is a b*tch and depending on how you treat her, you might get rich. The current head of this regime opposed subsidy (for whatever reason) many many years ago. Will it therefore be surprising that the plate he used to serve other regime food is also used to serve him food? If he had fully liberalized the market 10/11 years ago when Nigerians were a bit richer, wouldn't we have forgotten about it by now? We so much poorer now that subsidy removal will brutally impact Nigerians. The more horrifying thing is that 8 years from now, we would not be better economically. Those few that benefit from the broken system will do all within Their power to keep the country comatose. Unemployment is projected to be 41% in 2024. That's abominable

bro. They say, old age comes with wisdom. But I can't see any of that in Tinubu.

Tinubu was more interested in showing us how powerful and authoritative he is.
Aaahhh.. there is a new sheriff in town.

But he forgot that the ripple effect of that stupid and careless statement would be worse than telling us how powerful Tinubu is.

See, it is a curse for a man to start his Govt. Like this. But I wish him well in his govt.

You seem not to understand how business works. Every single government decision always affects business. It isn't charity. Because as dollar goes up. If you charge old price, you won't have enough for exchange rate for the new dollar rate.

Imagine selling at old rate. And you want to convert to dollar to import again. The money won't be enough. Because of failed government economy policy.

Buhari was a disaster but people don't understand. It is we in the business field that knows

Amazing the way Nigerians are capable of sabotaging themselves for cheap profit. Same product, same product cost at the depot, but different selling price. We have a long way to go as a country.

When a man as old as Tinubu does not have wisdom, what do you expect?

That statement was unwarranted, unnecessary and useless. Because, what you are seeing now is the ripple effect of an unguided statement.

Tinubu wanted to express power and authority on his first day. He wanted you to know there is a new sheriff in town. Which to me was unnecessary.

Reckless statements like that create panic, fear and uncertainties in modern economy.
It's capable of bring down market prices or skyrocketing market prices.

Blame Tinubu!

Everyone knows Subsidy has to go but it's not reasonable for a president to make pronouncements that will heat up the economic space especially if they understand the hawks operating in the fuel importation sector and how things work in Nigeria. It's not enough to have power as president, some selfish economic interests will sabotage you if u keep making careless statements, the APC crew did same with Goodluck and PDP, so they should know better...and I think it's high time you moved on from Obi. We have a president who should make policies for both obi supporters and non obi supporters..i am sure price of fuel isn't less for u when u showed u are pro-Tinubu or pro-Atiku or anti-Obi...we have a sworn in president already, it's time for governance and assessment of how we are governed...stop the politics already

Do you know an individual or people on that street cannot fix their roads without payment for approval from the govt ?

You were selling at 240 before the announcement, meanwhile you still have some old supply, why increase your selling price to 400 immiedately after the announcement just because you want to raise enough money to purchase at the new market price? It is only proper that when the old supply of 240 is exhausted, then you buy and sell at the new market price.
