Can innoson customize, because i want gas car, or solar incorporated with battery. innoson motors need to help us.

Our local car company needs to innovate. So there are more choices. smiley

I don't see any car price crashing

Nothing will crash stop playing ...we are just too greedy in this part of the world

Before the removal of subsidy...a lexus es 350 V6 was sold for between 6.5 million to 7.4million

Go and check again now or wait after one month and check again

Am even thinking people will now buy thier own cars now that fuel price gone up which means public transport will double plus the uncomfortable atmosphere that comes with public transport ...where them dey carry for 200 naira before na 400 naira

From Abuja to Benin city with God is good motor na 27000 thousands naira now...so it will be better you just fuel your own car with 12000 naira and drive from Abuja to Benin city

12k fuel from Abuja to Benin

Since it was reported that Nigerian border has been opened, and there is hike in the fuel pump price, I see the car prices crashing to all time low. Cars will be coming from the neighbouring countries and many people will like to sell their cars because they cannot buy fuel and maintain the car.

Therefore, if you want to buy car, wait a little more (like a month), monitor the car market and take a decision. Definitely, you will get it at a better price.

The laws of economics hardly work in Nigeria, probably because of excessive greed.

The price may not crash as expected.

Personal opinion:

The relationship between cars and Petrol is complementary in nature. Complementary in the sense that, one is needed to augment the other, just like garri and kulikuli.

Going by basic economics principle, there is an inverse price relationship between complementary goods i.e an increase in the price of one results in decrease in the demand for the other. With this, it is conceivable that with increase in the price of petroleum, there will be less demand for cars, hence result in price crash occasioned by excess supply over demand.

Also, from the angle of the Federal government, the rich benefit more from the subsidy. People with ten cars will now find it unfunny fueling the convoy, and this may result in selling off some of the vehicles. This should further increase the supply of cars and drive down the price.

Let's talk about this, do you see the price of cars crashing? Let's leave out the Nigerian factor, corruption and base our argument on fact.
I agree with you.

The price of cars and other utility vehicles may not crash as expected because of custom and port factors .
NCS is busy increasing tariff on imported vehicles ,it is one tariff today and upward review of another tomorrow coupled with new tariffs

Tinubu government doesn't need infrastructure. All the infrastructure buhari borrowed money was wasted at the detriment of the economy.

What tinubu need is rearrange the economy.

Micra driver in Ibadan are really suffering I think, during the cashless the price of transportation don't go up despite queueing for a long hour before they see fuel,I was going to agbowo from Iwo road 2days ago and they call it 300 what they used to carry at 150-200 before,I thought it was too high and walk down small and see another set that carry us at #150, I was just like how will this person make gain with the #500 fuel+car maintenance if the car have fault...

Price of cars will definitely drive down and perhaps also make them available to users who truly need them to move goods to and fro market there by softening price of commodities too.

Secondly a lot of this cars with be crushed because a lot of the older cars belonging to the poor who can't afford fueling. Scraps will be sent to china for recycling that's if the government fails to implement policies and project to manage the waste here.

No more driving parent's cars around town carelessly at least it will reduce and also keep our roads safe from learners and reckless driving

You can't compare car and fuel with garri and kulikuli. I can take garri without kulikuli but you can't drive car without fuel unless it is electric car.

The problem is, cars are necessities in Nigeria. Unlike in Europe where there are alot of alternatives such as trains, trams and government buses, that is not the case in Nigeria. Necessity will still drive people to buy car. For for once cannot live in Nigeria without a car.

Fuel-economy will now be a major factor for most Nigerians in buying a car.
So demand for such cars as Corolla will increase, & so also the price.

Exactly! Plus more brain box car thieves especially for Corolla.

You can say that again! Maybe it is because it is a civil service state. Even with the minimal increase, some people have resorted to trekking.
