Think of what economic impact it would have had on our economy if subsidy was removed in 2012, how much forex we would have conserved, what the exchange would have been .............. It is good to remove subsidy now but it would have been better if it was allowed 10years ago.

Because me import fuel right
So why do we import fuel?
Because our refineries aren’t working?
So why aren’t our refineries working?

If we fixed all our refineries would we still need to import fuel?

So why haven’t we channeled resources over the years to fix the refineries?

We stopped importation of rice because “we want to grow our economy and consume locally grown rice right?

So why did the price of locally grown rice shoot up?

If the average international price of the commodity is $680 and Russia is selling at $320, do you need a soothsayer to tell you that Russia is deliberately selling at a loss because they can’t get buyers as a result of war related sanctions?

EU and the US have placed sanctions on Russian oil and gas. They can’t get buyers easily. They sell at heavily discounted price to the few who are willing to risk the consequences of US and EU sanctions.

Russia has been selling at half international pricing for over 20 years.

We’ve spend more than what Dangote used to build his own refinery to turn around our old refineries but they are still as dead as dodo. Spending money on the refineries is just like sinking money into a bottomless pit. It has never worked since 1999 and it won’t work. We must sell those refineries immediately and allow private investors handle the sector.

Why would you sell refineries that won't work to private investors? Which investor will buy refineries that are doomed? You're just repeating punch lines you barely understand. The refineries are better off sold to panteka to cannibalise and sell
