Exactly the make it seem like this subsidy removal is a magic wand once they wave it all out problems are gone. But it’s all a big fat lie this isn’t the first time they are removing or reducing subsidy payment what happened to the previous money saved when they reduced subsidy payment. Which aspect of the economy did they channel it to?

When gej was discusing what he will use the money for, apc using Nigerians brain, opposed it and said they don't trust the government. Well, I can beat my chest that I was not among those zombies that occupy ojota because I saw the future and I was in support of subsidy removal after reading the massive corruption in payment of subsidy to oil marketers.

Why is it that anytime somebody come up with opposing views, you people call the person IPOB or obidient? There are still Nigerians who wants the best for this country, without been partisan or affiliated to a political party. Why is subsidy not a scam in 2012 and suddenly becomes a scam in 2023? Personally I think subsidy removal is long overdue. But the government needs to put measures in place to curb the total collapse of the economy. Like increasing minimum wage, which is supposed to be the first agenda of this government. Because the subsidy removal will not affect the rich, but will drastically affect the common man earning minimum wage. The government must put the welfare of the common man first, for far too long they've enriched the rich making them super rich. It's the time for the common man to benefit from the government. Thank you

There was nothing wrong in removing the subsidy then but the Jonathan government went about it the wrong way.

It woke up one morning and said the subsidy was gone and the price deregulated.

It never engaged stakeholders before removing the subsidy. It should have done some consultations.

It also made the mistake of increasing the minimum wage from 6,500 to 18,000 before the 2011 elections so as to win votes. It should instead have increased it to 11,000. This would have provided the government wriggle room to increase minimum wage to 18,000 during the strike.

And if all did not work, well there are several ways to skin a cat grin grin grin grin grin

Look first apologies must come from Tinubu and Buhari.

Nigerians were not only scammed, but completely bewitched by APC. As of today, Nigerians do not even know what’s happening with them.

Nigerians have gone from hardship to more hardship, suffering to more suffering, poverty to more poverty, misery to more misery. In the last few days when Tinubu made the uncalculated pronouncement, more Nigerians have gone into misery. Unfortunately APC does not have any solution, except to give more excuses and buy more time.

For those who know the truth about the miserable lives Nigerians live, you must be commended. For those who live miserable lives, yet pretend that all is well, please continue.

Nigerians have entered unfortunately into the unknown. Each time we are told more lies to cover existing lies. We do not know what to believe anymore, except to look up to God. The last few days have witnessed increase in prices of basic items, with everyone claiming “fuel don cost”.

Na there una dey so.

Jonathan woke up one morning and said subsidy was gone. So Tinubu took how many days to announce that subsidy had gone? Tell us the difference please.

The part in bold is wrong. Very wrong. Government is not paying subsidy because we import petrol. Government pay subsidy because Nigerians don’t want to buy petrol at market determined price. We want to buy petrol at a price regulated below the cost of production and profit margin of petrol importers and refiners. Let’s understand this and not confuse each other, please.

you are being confused because you're too gullible

If Nigerians could not trust the then government for removing fuel subsidy when they were paying it in billions, how do you think the same Nigerians would trust this government who once told us subsidy was a scam but later continued where Jonathan had stop in the payment of subsidy after they told us they weren't paying subsidy? How can Nigerians now trust them after claiming they've paid trillions of naira between 2015 and now?

I could remember back then, Jonathan didn't just wake up overnight and removed subsidy. There was already a palliative measure in place. I remembered the Sure-P, just in case you've suddenly forgotten. This cut across the country back then on transport Healthcare and empowerment. What do we have under the most critic of that time now president? He removed subsidy only to plan for palliative measures later. Go to channelstv archives and play the video of Osho Baba's tonight interview with Seun. I pray we don't say Buhari's government was better.

Gej could have been firm with his decision, he was the number 1 citizen, if u truly know it's for a good cause, then what is stopping u?....u don't bend for no one..
Subsidy is a nice policy, but the scam underneath it is just so fvcking annoying and irritating.... if subsidy ain't stopped, more scam go spring up under it...
