Is 97 naira not better? Dude, how much are you buying fuel now? Oga, tell Tinubu to take back to GEJ days when fuel was sold for 97 naira and things were cheap
From all indications, you seem to be an illiterate. Does Nigeria control the price of fuel?

It was removed by Buhari initially but he refused to allow market forces take it from there and that’s the problem. We can’t remove subsidy and still be fixing price. In a matter of time, market forces will push the price above the regulated price and we either increase at the same pace with the market or subsidy is back.

So, the current challenge is not even about accepting fuel price at N530, we must also be able to buy above or below N530 depending on market forces.

Market forces - another deceptive jargon. Subsidy has long been removed, all FG has been doing is to raise revenue using 'subsidy tale'. Another govt will come with such in the future. NIGERIANS are easy to corner. Since 1999 it has been the same claim even when the prices of oil is lower in the international market. What are the exact figures added to subsidize petroleum products in Nigeria is always a tale of 'about', nothing specific.

Nigerians didn’t ask the right questions then and we sure aren’t asking the right questions now…
Why do we have subsidy in the first place?
Because me import fuel right
So why do we import fuel?
Because our refineries aren’t working?
So why aren’t our refineries working?

If we fixed all our refineries would we still need to import fuel?

So why haven’t we channeled resources over the years to fix the refineries?

We stopped importation of rice because “we want to grow our economy and consume locally grown rice right?

So why did the price of locally grown rice shoot up?

These and many more are questions we should be asking the government. These are things we should demand answers to otherwise we’ll just keep hearing different nonsense every new day

They will not listen to you now, they want to please their paymasters ni

What happened to systematically build the country? these guys have sponsored terror on the nation in the name of boko haram and other terrorist groups just to siphon public funds in the name of defense

All the monies spent on defense can't be accounted for, businesses are not flourishing, governors are too lazy

But suddenly fuel subsidy removal is the answer to all our problems

How? They don't know🤣

Your ignorance is appalling. You think the price will remain static till now from 2012? If we’ve allowed GEJ to fully remove subsidy in 2012 and eliminate regulated prices, the price per liter would still be around N500 today so what’s your point?

Haba! Kadoso, what happens to market force of demand and supply. What happens to government price ceiling? Since 2012 and you think things would not have regularized?

Exactly the make it seem like this subsidy removal is a magic wand once they wave it all out problems are gone. But it’s all a big fat lie this isn’t the first time they are removing or reducing subsidy payment what happened to the previous money saved when they reduced subsidy payment. Which aspect of the economy did they channel it to?

Apologise for the industrial scale theft that took place under Jonathan' subsidy program?

A 200-page inquiry revealed underhand practices fuelled a sixfold increase in spending on oil handouts between 2009 and 2011. Fuel subsidies, part of a decades-old programme meant to keep fuel prices low for millions of ordinary Nigerians, jumped to 2, 587 trillion naira from 384bn in the period.

The report by a house of representatives committee identified the shadowy Nigerian National Petroleum Company, ranked the world's least transparent state oil firm, as the key culprit. The firm was single-handedly responsible for almost half of the siphoned subsidy funds and was "found not to be accountable to any body or authority". Seventy-two fuel importers, some with allegedly close links to senior government officials, were also singled out. In one case, payments totalling exactly $6.4m flowed from the state treasury 128 times within 24 hours to "unknown entities"

Don't care about all this long epistle. My own is this:

Igbos, we must NOT cede Lagos to Yorubas. Politically, we have the numbers to make Lagos a strong political space for Ndigbo. Don't be scared by their threats, democracy is a game of numbers.

How many Nigerians trust the government of today??!

Nigerians could have been swayed then if these bastards who knew Jonathan was right had swallowed their ambitions and stood on the side of truth!

Now, they are asking for what they failed to give back then: Support!

Do you trust the country of today? If anything, politicians have become now emboldened and brazen in embezzlement and misappropriation of funds. Back then, they used to steal in millions, now they loot in billions. Terrible!

But now you trust the government of the day yeah?

How has your "trust" reduced the negative effect and hardship that subsidy removal has unleashes on the nation?

Tinubu himself said that Jonathan must make provision to reduce the hardship and inflation before removing subsidy. Meanwhile he hastily announced the removal without taking his own advice.

It's not hard to see who is the hypocrite here and it's not ordinary Nigerians that have been suffering since Tinubu took oath of office.

Not a good sign for a new government!
