I just dey pity Nigerians.

Subsidy was removed so Dangote and his group of political shareholders can compete favourably in the market.

They gave (loan) Dangote billions of your Fx to complete his refinery so subsidy removal can take effect but they could not channel those billions to fix electricity before subsidy removal.

You people will hate yourselves if after 8 years of subsidy removal, you still can't boast of steady and stable electricity. That's when you'll discover that you have been scammed again. But that won't stop some people from voting James Ibori as the next president from the South.

So what difference will it make apologizing? Some people just like making unnecessary noise. Almost 95% of Nigerians were against the removal of the subsidy in 2012 simply because we did not trust the government of the day.
Such a senseless talk. So you now trust same people that rejected it back then. Can you listen to your self? Mumu talk

They owe the man a strong and unreserved apology!... They should also apologize to Nigerians for setting them back by over a decade!

GEJ owes Nigerians an apology because he could have removed the subsidy regardless of the protest but didn't, he could have repaired the refineries, but didn't he could have to decentralise the electricity; instead, he sold it to his friend.

A litre of pms was N70 vs N600 now.
A bag of rice was N10k vs 45k now.. it will be 70k-80k once new FX and pump prices have fully permeated all sectors of the economy.
2012, Naija didnt China, $100bn.. today we owe more than we make.
Yeah they're economic implications for our poor leadership and bad fiscal policy regarding the economy... Nigeria needs to get this right once and for all regarding the oil subsidy brouhaha it's long over due ...How can we be paying over 2.8trillion to the otedola, Emeka offor the Business men for oil imports the Govt can't account for when we can upgrade our refineries it's not going to be sustainable definitely no matter how you see it

so Buhari also remove the subsidy? because price also went up.

Tinubu’s Oando is one the greatest beneficiaries. Co-founder, Boyo is likely going to be made minster of Petroleum. Same people who profiteered from subsidy are going to run ministry of petroleum lol.

The part in bold is wrong. Very wrong. Government is not paying subsidy because we import petrol. Government pay subsidy because Nigerians don’t want to buy petrol at market determined price. We want to buy petrol at a price regulated below the cost of production and profit margin of petrol importers and refiners. Let’s understand this and not confuse each other, please.

how is he wrong please? 🤔 We import fuel and the government subsidize the imported prize for its citizens but we all know the fraud behind. You guys got no brain at all! We allowed this same nansense happened in 2012 and 2015 and gullible to the point of removing a competent man and bringing sets of incompetencies 😡. Tinubu, Wole soyinka and Co that led the heated protest are behind this now! What a level of hypocrisy. 😒😏

Nothing less than N400 with current market conditions. However, market conditions may push the price upwards or downwards anytime. The point of removing subsidy is not to fix price but to allow market conditions dictate the price.
It's a bloody lie...a country like Libya sells for 10 naira per litre...tell me why fuel won't be expensive when we have to take our crude abroad to refine and then bring it back to sell to Nigerians at criminal and ridiculous prices

Our government Borrows money for projects that won't benefit the common good of the masses(most times they end up stealing the funds anyway) , why don't they borrow fund and Build a Very good Refinary for the common good of the masses.
It's quite unfortunate. Our government doesn't want the progress of the country. May God help us!

Nigerians didn’t ask the right questions then and we sure aren’t asking the right questions now…
Why do we have subsidy in the first place?
Because me import fuel right
So why do we import fuel?
Because our refineries aren’t working?
So why aren’t our refineries working?

If we fixed all our refineries would we still need to import fuel?

So why haven’t we channeled resources over the years to fix the refineries?

We stopped importation of rice because “we want to grow our economy and consume locally grown rice right?

So why did the price of locally grown rice shoot up?

These and many more are questions we should be asking the government. These are things we should demand answers to otherwise we’ll just keep hearing different nonsense every new day
Those questions have no answers. Whether you ask the right questions or not, the govt is useless in running the economy yet they all have different degrees in administration, accounting and economy

Unfortunately, he failed to mention that the Jontathan era enjoyed a lot of boom, but everything was stolen....we could afford to pay subsidy at the time, and the realities of 2012 and 2023 are no longer the same. We can hardly pay for anything, we borrow to pay salaries, we borrow to pay even the subsidies, and etc
is it that these people are suffering from memory loss that they do not realise our state of affairs at the time, or they just want to trend. Diezani and Patience Jona all had vessels that brought in fuel - they benefitted from the subsidy and yet still stole the rest fortune of Nigerians.
