I am of the opinion that your parents and family members should play a role in whoever you finally choose to settle down with. Marriage is not always a bed of roses, there are ups and downs. It is not relationship, problems will come up. The idea of my parents can't say who i will marry or who i will not, have failed mostly
This is one of the many reasons most marriages don't last this days. When problems comes up, the people you are supposed to run to for advice, are the ones that didn't consent to your marriage, so u have no choice than to run to social media for validation and then after seek for divorce When u realized u are alone.
