It usually starts with Thank you for....... And they would state that you perform well and your skills are valued, but they preferred to go with someone better. They would ask you to apply to other positions when available and that they have kept your profile in their archive should their be a need in the future.

I don't think that's true. I am also in that group. I think the next stage of the recruitment is invitation for interview. Why would they waste their time sending confirmation of one progressing to the next stage instead of them just sending an invitation for interview?

I took my assessment close to midnight on the day of the deadline, so I don't know if my assessment was even recorded.
