Good day Nairalanders. So for three days, I've been having constant headache like someone is hitting hammer on my head morning and night. Been on some painkillers but they have little or no effect.

Treated malaria and typhoid last week. Please what could be the problem please as It's really affecting my productivity at work.

Start drinking lots of water and be consistent for like 2 to 3 weeks

I had same issue early this year but mine was due to an Allergy from a particular medicine that contains bee products that i was using. The headache lasted for almost two weeks and i was almost running mad, gave me blister on my face. Pls check of you are having allergy, and do Hepatitis tests.

First try to calm yourself down.

1. Start taking enough rest and
2. Drink enough water
3. Reduce your stress

I once had this for months...I treated thypiod...Don't know how you treated yours but my treatment was thorough, one think I finally did was change my water. Then it stopped. I was drinking pure water. Now I take cway bottle water...I'm good now...

Finally, if you're not getting enough sleep...no matter the treatment you take, bros forget it...It won't go. One day I called work... I won't be coming today...I slept all through the day.. U sef will see the difference

Re: Persistent Headache by Skidooo(m): 5:53pm On Jul 22, 2023
Go and check your blood volume ( PCV).
If you have too much of blood in your system it's lead to persistence headache.
Re: Persistent Headache by bluice2(m): 5:53pm On Jul 22, 2023
Check your blood pressure for starters, then most importantly, go do eye pressure test. The second may likely be the fault

Have you been overthinking? Did you properly treat malaria and typhoid? When was the last time you checked your blood pressure or did a thorough check up? Have you been sleeping well? How is your diet and hydration like?

Well alot has been on my mind lately

I took anti malaria tablet with amoxicillin and paracetamol.

It's been a while I did that.

I've been sleeping well but for the past 3 days I hardly get any sleep because of the headache

I eat well and drink enough water mostly pure water which I'm about to change. Thanks

Headache is a sign of so many things in the body

It could be BP
It could be stress
It could be worries
It just be anything

So try and check your BP or run a general medical test

If it's will be too expensive

Take a week break from work and have some rest at home

Were those drugs prescribed by a certified doctor or self-imposed? Did you go to a lab to check if the malaria parasites in your blood stream have cleared up? What is bothering you? Has it occurred to you that those things bothering you are the reason why you suffer from insomnia and the insomnia is possibly why your head aches?

I went to a pharmacy and the nurse working there gave me the drugs.

Will go to a hospital for test.

It's not that serious to deprive me of sleep
Re: Persistent Headache by Shegs105: 6:24pm On Jul 22, 2023
Since you have treated malaria and typhoid in addition to the usage of painkillers and the headache still persists, I will advise you to go see a Neuro specialist, they may possibly advise you to go for a brain MRI. PLEASE GO SEE A NEURO ASAP!!!

Please, you should see a doctor for proper diagnosis. There are drugs that the doctor can prescribe for you so you can find sleep, but that can only be prescribed for you in severe cases and I wouldn't wish that for you. I strongly believe that you will be better in no time. Cheers!
Re: Persistent Headache by DrMuzungu(m): 6:41pm On Jul 22, 2023
Check the BP. If it is a high BP, treat it. If the headache doesn't subside, you must do a scan, no matter how much it costs.

. My dear
It may just be a resistant typhoid.dont allow people frighten you with scan.
Just treat typhoid with a stronger drug.
It happened to me last week.my spirit just directed me to buy another typhoid drug before going to the hospital. Lo and behold.just the first tablet the headache disappeared.
